Best Friends Boarding has been a family-run business rooted in exceptional pet care since its beginnings with my grandfather, Thompson’s boarding kennel for bird dogs in Texas. In 1995, his wife, Dawn Thompson built on that foundation by opening the first Best Friends Boarding Kennel, known for its personal care and attention to pets. In 2022, my mother, Kimberly expanded the family business with

Best Friends Boarding Too outside of Austin Texas, modernizing their services while keeping the family’s dedication at the core. Now, in 2024, I (Matthew) will be bringing the legacy to Manhattan with Best Friends Boarding & Day Club, offering New Yorkers a seamless, elevated experience for their pets. With a long-standing commitment to care, I aim to create a sanctuary where pets feel safe, loved, and right at home.

What a day. What a year.

We’re still smiling thinking about our first birthday celebration and the energy that filled every corner of the Day Club 🐾✨ It was one of those moments where everything pauses just long enough for you to realize how far something has come.

We are so grateful for the connections we’ve made this past year, the trust you’ve placed in us, and the joy your pets bring into our space every single day.

What started as two coworkers, two dogs, and one spontaneous spark has turned into something seriously special. Katie + Gaby, inspired by their pups Reina & Torshi, began crafting custom collars that didn’t just accessorize… they told stories. Within weeks, Bead Bar was born—and it’s been building a following (and a whole lot of friendships) ever since. 🐶💫
