❤A GRATITUDE & INVITATION POST!!!!!!! ❤

Place For Cats wholeheartedly thanks the wonderful ❤KitNipBox❤ folks for the FABULOUS monthly gift boxes of quality toys and treats that we have received for going on three years!!

When we received the first gift box 30 months ago, we were surprised to see a unique and outstanding grouping of playthings for kitties. A beautiful "Thank You" postcard lay on top of the gift toys. On the back of the Thank You card was a description of each toy. Each toy was attached to its own name card.

That one box was deeply appreciated, and we thought "that would be that. How nice that a company recognizes us." But then, MONTHLY boxes began arriving ‼️‼️

Each box contained toys of a theme, usually the theme of the holiday or event of the month, be it Valentine's Day, Spring Has Arrived, Swim Club, 4th of July, Back To School, Halloween, etc.

Cats are sooooooooo smart! They smelled the catnip through the box and were all over the box as soon as each arrived. Once opened, there was NO time to remove the toy from its name card - the cats stole the toys then & there still attached to their cards and were off with them!!

In order to be able to set aside toys for our wards living with other foster parents, our director had to open the box out of sight of the felines at our group's main location and hide them in order to be able to distribute them later.

The theme boxes are creative and the Thank You cards are collectible and reminders of which toys were in which group. One of the themes loved by PFC's director, Mia, was the Wizarding Whiskers KitNipBox! Harry Potter, move over! Hello All. We are hoping to bring this beautiful peach Persian to NYC from Alexandria, Egypt, where Rescuer Sohila Ezzat will care for her until she is adopted.

It is a horrible custom in Egypt to bring into the home 4 - 6 weeks old Persian kittens for children to play with and then - literally - throw them onto the streets when the kittens reach adolescence. Instead of spaying or neutering, the older kittens are thrown out like garbage. Most do not survive. There are no government run shelters of any kind anywhere. There are no government sponsored programs to educate the public on sterilization and many in the culture oppose sterilization on religious grounds.

ONLY Rescuers try to compensate with their own money, time, space and energy. There are many excellent Rescuers in Egypt but their combined efforts do not come anywhere near what is needed to save the millions of cats and dogs who are bludgeoned, hung, stabbed, poisoned, or otherwise tortured to death in the streets. Most are tortured by ignorant hoodlums and/or starve to death.

Place For Cats has agreed to sponsor this kitty's medical care and journey to NYC if we can find an approved adopter. PLEASE consider opening your heart and your home to this beautiful little soul. We will update you with pictures as soon as kitty sees the vet and starts her medical regimen of FeLV/FIV blood test, sterilization, vaccinations and all necessary medical treatment and care.

Rescued in Egypt, flown to NYC JFK from Cairo on December 6th, two fosters later, and SIMONE, an exquisite, friendly, sweet, polite, healthy, spayed girl, about 20 months of age, is still chilling, waiting for her furrever digs to present themselves in The Big Apple. This friendly kitty left on the streets of Egypt was bearing up under the weight of a tail tumor the size of a grapefruit.
ZIKO was rescued by wonderful Egyptian Rescuer Mahy Mahmoud.
Place For Cats arranged surgery for kitty in August 2025 - his tail was removed and ZIKO healed wonderfully.
ZIKO is now fully healed, healthy, neutered, current in vaccinations and READY TO FLY TO NYC to a purrrrmanent loving home!!

ZIKO endured tremendous pain from a tumor on his tail the size of a cantaloupe!!! He had surgery last fall to remove it and now is a handsome, sweet tailless guy, now that he isn’t dragging that big tumor around on the streets of Egypt!!

PLEASE help to find a loving home for Ziko in the NYC area. Place For Cats will arrange for air cargo transport from Cairo to JFK Airport in New York City.

Leo was found very sickly on the streets of Egypt by Rescuer Sohila Ezzat. Leo had been starved and abused - and had lost an eye by the time he was saved by Sohila.

Sohila nursed him to health. Leo is about 4 years of age, neutered and ready to undergo flight preparations for a trip to NYC to find his Furrrever Person. Would that be you?????

PLEASE, PLEASE help us save this kitty who is currently on death row at NYC ACC for Thursday, February 12th.

This stunning boy is FIV positive, about 7 years old, and as you can see, gorgeous. He is a gentle soul, neutered, friendly, and has many more years left that he would like to LIVE!

As you may know, FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) is NOT generally infectious, transmitting only through deep bite wounds where the saliva of an infected cat gets into the bloodstream of another during aggressive fights. FIV is NOT transmissible to humans.

According to ACC's profile of kitty, (link in comments,) Blizzard's FIV manifests only in "persistent skin lesions that have not responded to treatment in shelter. We suspect the underlying cause is allergies, and Blizzard may need to be on a long-term medication that is not available in shelter." Of course, Place For Cats will obtain a further medical evaluation of the skin lesions and identify the treatment prior to adoption.

PLEASE WILL SOMEONE STEP UP FOR THIS GORGEOUS, DESERVING BOY??? We will do a foster-to-adopt situation but a home is needed before Thursday, February 12th.
