An important sign cat owners often ignore.

This bathing myth needs to end.

Yes, cats lick themselves — but licking is not the same as washing.
It spreads saliva and oil through the coat… it doesn’t truly clean the skin.

Outdoor cats have “tools” indoor cats don’t:
they rub on bark, roll in sand/soil, and naturally shed coat outdoors.
Indoor cats often build up oil/grease + saliva residue in the undercoat,
and that can lead to dull coat, dandruff, odor, and faster matting.

A gentle bath (done correctly) helps:
✅ remove excess oil + dead skin
✅ reset the coat and reduce buildup
✅ support healthier skin and easier brushing

Bathing isn’t about “beauty” — it’s about skin + coat health.
Frequency depends on the cat, coat type, and lifestyle.

I’m not a supporter of shaving cats without a reason.
But sometimes, a Lion Cut is the most humane option.

When a cat isn’t groomed and mats cause pain,
shaving is kinder than leaving the coat untreated.

Every case is individual.
The goal is always the cat’s comfort and well-being. 🐾
