Minnie came from conditions no animal should ever know, and she was on the path to entering the shelter system.
For 10 months, her world was confined to the walls of the apartment she was born in…no walks, no fresh air, no veterinary care, no chance to just be a dog.
Her body reflects everything she’s been through. Painful mange, infection, and untreated wounds that never had the opportunity to heal.
The moment we heard about her, we knew we were going to act fast. Because Minnie isn’t just another rescue case to us, she’s family.
She’s the littermate of Handsome Jr., who was just last week adopted 48 hours before we learned about Minnie. When we realized who she was, there was no question: we would be there for her in a moments notice.
Within just 24 hours, Minnie has already received the medical attention she desperately needed and is beginning to settle into foster care.
Now, her healing truly begins. She’ll be spayed next week, and with time, care, and love, her wounds both seen and unseen will start to mend.
