The moon has a very special connection to Mayan practices and traditions 🌚particularly to weaving, which was believed to have been taught by the Moon goddess, Ixchel, to her daughter, Ixchebelyax.

Our collar Noche (meaning night in Spanish) is inspired by the color palette of the night sky, where mother and daughter, Ixchel and Ixchebelyax, weave endlessly ✨

For those who were wondering why I’ve been less active. I’ve recently had to go back to my full time job, which is good but also it has been crazy for the past month 🙃 Im talking late nights, lots of stress and working on the weekends.

So Im sorry for being MIA, but I also want to say that I love being able to work on KUSII and express my creativity through here. Maybe one day KUSII will be my full time job, in the mean time I gotta hustle to buy Nikki all of the delicious treats and give her the spoiled life she deserves 🐕 👑

Yesterday I had a little taste of the influencer life and let me tell you this, it was nerve wracking to talk to my phone haha 😝 however☝🏻 it is something I would like to do more often so you can see the backstory of KUSII and how it came to be ✨

This is my welcoming face to our new followers! 🐕

Hi, my name is Mariana, I’m the person behind KUSII’s social media platforms, design and photography 📸 I get to do all the fun stuff 💁🏻‍♀️ My siblings on the other hand do the boring (yet very important) logistics and numbers stuff.

However, none of this would be possible without the support of my amazing friend Saradjane who packs and sends all of your orders. She also handwrites a little thank you card with her beautiful handwriting (if there is a typo or misspelled word you know who to blame now haha jk 😆)

We founded KUSII because we love our country dearly 🇲🇽 and wanted to share the amazing work of indigenous communities while paying the correct monetary value of their work ✨
The work of artisans or indigenous communities is usually undervalued and underpaid for and that is something we knew we wanted to change ✨

Where are my doberman dog moms at? 🐕 I think we grew up with the idea that certain dog breeds are violent or scary.
Pitbulls, Dobermans... have had a bad reputation for quite some time and I think it’s time we change that.

I have to admit that I definitely used to have the impression that doberman dogs were THE most intimidating/scary dogs but since opening this account I’ve had the chance to see how dobermans actually behave (like Nala) and they are the sweetest creatures ✨💕

Side-note* the only dog that’s ever bitten me is a Chihuahua
