I spent an hour with a 5 year old on FaceTime typing text in bubbles over my head and she didn’t even realize she was practicing reading.

Good Morning!

Emotional morning this morning.
I dropped off my morning child at day care and realized that she doesn’t really need me in the mornings anymore.
She’s 4 and I’ve been with her half her life and now she has independence and time management skills are beginning. She understands consequences and doesn’t require my old “tricks” I used to get things done.
They are going on vacation in a week for a month and when she goes back to school in the fall, mom will take her for 2 weeks and I’m pretty confident after that they will be able to navigate the morning without me.
I had a hard talk with mom and am now going to look for a job.
My eyes are watering.
She’s one of my best friends.
