KittyKind

KittyKind KittyKind is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, all-volunteer cat rescue and adoption group located in New York City.

KittyKind is a no-kill cat rescue group that rescues, cares for, and finds loving homes for all ages and types of cats. We pride ourselves on our commitment to caring for and finding the best adoptive homes for those cats that are deemed "special needs," be it because of illness, injury, disability, or age. We take responsibility for each and every life we save and if a cat or kitten is not adopted, they have a home with us for life.

Ten month old Charlie was living under a house with her two siblings in Fire Island when she was rescued! Very dramatic! She needed some socializing, but now she is now an affectionate teen who is looking for her forever home, possibly with another young cat that will enjoy play time. She is a wonderful girl and has a very exotic look to her. Her entire undercoat is white yet she is black on top—a smoke tabby! Very appropriate for a cat from Fire Island.

Charlie will sit on your lap for a bit after a few weeks of acclimating in your home, and even take a nap. She loves being brushed, petted, and fawned over. She’s a fiend for a fishing pole game, and god help if an insect gets in your home— she’ll take care of it quickly. She’s a tiny, delicate girly-girl who is also a fierce hunter!

Sparkle is absolutely gorgeous lavender tortie who has a big personality! She loves attention, snuggles, and caresses. Sparkle was born indoors and raised by a woman in Staten Island who passed away. Sparkle is resilient and intrepid. She likes to be part of whats going on and is headstrong. She will be insistent when she wants something and she won’t accept no for an answer! The more caresses she receives, the happier she is. 2 year old Sparkle may be standoffish at first. Like with most cats, it does take her time to adjust to a new person. She gets along with other cats, and can also be a single cat. Sparkle is FIV and FeLV negative, spayed, and up to date on shots. Email [email protected] to apply!

2 of 2
Willie was found at a feeding station on Queens. In foster care, he is an independent affectionate cat who is very vocal in the evening and wants human attention. He will follow you around and sit next to you and sleep with you at night. He loves to be petted, but if he turns on his belly and you’re petting him on the belly, he may get bitey, but does not break the skin– he’s just setting a boundary. He loves to sit and look out the window and is curious about noises in the hallway. 7 year old Willie is probably best as a single cat. Email [email protected] if you are interested in Willie!

Starsky and Hutch were rescued at one day old. One of the rescuers we work with had a nursing mother, Farrah, with a litter of 2 week old kittens. Farrah was lovingly up to the task of caring for these babies as well as her own. They were fully accepted into her little family, and her other kittens helped raise them and teach them the ropes.

Starsky (black) and Hutch (tabby) are bonded brothers and inseparable partners in cuddles and chaos. Starsky is the playful leader, while Hutch is the cuddle bug who loves to be held. They’re always side by side– especially when it’s time for naps and mischief. Now 9 weeks old, they are FIV and FeLV negative and up to date on their vetting. Email [email protected] if you are interested in adopting Starsky and Hutch!

Alex was a part of TNR project, but he ended up being way too friendly to go back on the streets. He absolutely loves other cats and people. 6 year old Alex has no aggression towards anyone and is always looking for way to make friend with new cats. He’d do great in a home with kids (over 5 years) old and as a second cat– since he loves cats a lot! Alex is neutered and up to date on shots. Come meet Alex at our Adoption Center inside Petco Union Square!

Alanis (light pastel torby and white), Arthur (gray tabby and white), Agatha (black), and Allison (darker pastel torby with mittens) are adorable 10 week old kittens who were luckily enough to be rescued with their mom! They’re healthy, fluffy, silly, a little shy, and ready to explore the world! All of our kittens need a cat companion, and these little sprites would love to be adopted with a sibling, but could go to a home that has a young friendly resident cat. They are FIV and FeLV negative and up to date on shots. Spay/neuter is included in their adoption fee! Come see them at our Adoption Center in Petco Union Square!
