Sweet and soft, petite Aurora is a stellar young lady! She is moderately energetic, gets along with other cats, and is especially fond of gentle pets around her ears and chin. Aurora is loving and sassy, which makes her a wonderful companion. Her independence and confidence make you feel like you’re the center of the world when she shines her attention on you. 1 year old Aurora lived in a home previous to this, and is very comfortable with apartment living. Come meet her in our Adoption Center inside Petco Union Square!

Sparky is verv sweet and will alwavs accept pets. He is keen to investigate everything, so you will find him trying to help you change the sheets on the bed, checking out the dishwasher (not inside), and helping with the ironing. He lives to be with people. He is an active cat and plays a lot with his siblings. But he also enjoys quiet sleeps on chairs or his humans’ bed. He loves his toys and will choose what he wants to play with out of the cat toy basket. His favorite are plastic tubes, which he carries with him in his mouth. He also loves cardboard boxes converted into a cubby. 1 and a half year old Sparky can often be found sleeping in this box, with a paw hanging out. Overall, he is a great cat! Email [email protected] if you’re interested in Sparky!

Rosita was rescued at a few months old and lived in the same home for the past 8 years. Mostly called Ninja, she loves to play and to surprise her parent with her slightly wacky calico energy, often anticipating how her human playmate would react and having a next step planned in the game she is creating. She is a charming little alpha full of fun and love but also needing a bit of dominance in her territory. Shy and cautious with strangers and in new situations, she may disappear when guests arrive. Otherwise, she followed her human around, interacting much of the time both for pets and for play. Rosita has been in two foster situations since her human could no longer care for her and is waiting to find her new and truly forever home. She is a mush with her foster, loving head rubs and scritches and generously giving back head butts and kisses. She does get overstimulated at times and gives clear signals, like moving away quickly to a distance or sometimes giving a gentle slap or nip to indicate that she’s had enough. She will likely become calmer when she feels more settled with someone who knows her well and this sweet kitty can safely stop readjusting to new worlds. Please email [email protected] to apply for this lovely lady and her bestie!

Volunteer Highlight!! Meet Ann! “I have been volunteering with KittyKind since 2005(!) and it’s been an incredible experience. I’ve been involved with animal rescue volunteer work since high school, and with two little rescues of my own at home (Arnold and Caroline - Arnold a KittyKind kitty!) I know first hand the importance of providing love, support and a good home to the amazing animals we care for at KittyKind. Volunteering to me means providing care, love, and safety to our rescues to give them the best start possible before they are matched with their fur-ever home!” ❤️

Serenade got his name because after he was trapped, he responded to his rescuer making a meow with his own plaintive little meow. Although his musical talents have faded into the background as his other charms have emerged, he still has a l***y voice– especially when heralding meals being carried in! Serenade is a loving little boy, thrusting his little face into yours, occasionally giving your face a love nibble, nestling himself under a neck, falling asleep in your arms– the usual darling kitten routine. He is not in love with being picked up and may scoot out of your grasp, or wriggle somewhat if he fails to escape. Once in a while he enjoys being held on a lap, settling into a cuddle session. His play antics are something to see- smacking his pingpong and bell balls violently around the room, losing them constantly. He keeps a clean house as he has never had a litterbox accident, and peers deeply into the box as he arranges the pellets just so after “business” has been conducted. 10 week old Serenade is FeLV and FIV negative and up to date with his vet work. Come meet him today, Saturday, June 20th, as he makes his debut in our Adoption Center inside Petco Union Square!

Ten month old Charlie was living under a house with her two siblings in Fire Island when she was rescued! Very dramatic! She needed some socializing, but now she is now an affectionate teen who is looking for her forever home, possibly with another young cat that will enjoy play time. She is a wonderful girl and has a very exotic look to her. Her entire undercoat is white yet she is black on top—a smoke tabby! Very appropriate for a cat from Fire Island.

Charlie will sit on your lap for a bit after a few weeks of acclimating in your home, and even take a nap. She loves being brushed, petted, and fawned over. She’s a fiend for a fishing pole game, and god help if an insect gets in your home— she’ll take care of it quickly. She’s a tiny, delicate girly-girl who is also a fierce hunter!

Mateo is playful and energetic. He really likes affection and being pet. He will sprawl on your lap or right next to you. He’s fascinated by a wand toy and playfully interacting with you. He can spend hours looking out the window or having lazy nap time on the couch. He’s shy initially, but comes around pretty quickly. 1 year old Mateo is a very sweet boy. He is currently in a foster home with his cat pal Diane, but she doesn’t enjoy his play style in wanting to wrestle (Diane is much more demure). Mateo might do best in a home with another active kitty that wants to chase each other and wrestle! Email [email protected] if you’re interested in Mateo!

Diane is a little shy.. She takes some time to gain her confidence and learn to trust. Once she does, she comes to you often for affection, but prefers to sleep by herself. When she thinks you’re in a good position for petting she’ll come running over. She loves having the sides of her face and her back petted. If you don’t do it right she will let you know. She has the cutest tiny meow which she will often use to talk to her favorite stuffed mouse as she carries it around. She doesn’t like to be picked up, but will often be at your feet. She loves any toys that skitter across the floor. Diane has lived with other cats in foster care and can get along with them as long as they don’t play rough with her– she doesn’t want to wrestle. She loves a soft cat bed and a cosy blanket. Email adopt .org to apply for 1 year old Diane!
