🌊🐠 Another inspiring day of Eco-Vivencias brought history, science, and conservation to life.
Our interns explored Puerto Rico’s northeastern marine and coastal ecosystems, starting with a snorkeling adventure in the clear waters of Cabezas de San Juan, where they observed the biodiversity that makes these habitats so important.
An archaeological coastal hike then highlighted how generations of people have relied on and shaped these landscapes, reinforcing the connection between culture, history, and conservation.
The day ended with a visit from CIROM, where interns learned about coral restoration and its role in supporting marine life and protecting coastlines from storms and erosion. They also gained insight into the challenges facing reefs and the innovative efforts helping them recover.
By linking science, history, and stewardship, our interns are building a deeper understanding of how healthy ecosystems support thriving communities.
