Attention those who run the NY city shelters. If you see a senior cat who has been at the shelter for weeks and is starting to shut down here are a few suggestions as an alternative to killing. You have a lot of cats in foster homes. Why not swap out a foster cat with a shelter cat for a couple of weeks. Or leave some foster homes empty just for cases like this.
When I volunteered at the ASPCA I would occasionally take a long term kitty home for a “vacation”. Why not have a program like that? I see emails about the dogs that aren’t going to be relisted on the EPL. Don’t normally see the same emails about cats.
This is New York we should be better than this. This is for you Hanifa. You deserved better
