At Not The Rug, we believe thoughtful pet sitting starts long before the overnight stay.

We want your dog to already know us. Their pace, personality, routines, sensitivities, and all the little quirks that make them who they are.

That’s why we require walks before pet sitting whenever possible. Trust is built through repetition, familiarity, and real connection.

By the time we walk through the door, we want your pup to feel relaxed and think:

“Oh nice… my walker is here.”

That feeling matters to us.

Finally. The rain gave Williamsburg a three-day residency and nobody bought tickets. ☔️😂

Now the sun is back, the sidewalks are dry, and the pups are outside living their best lives again. Long walks. Sniff breaks. Park hangs. Happy dogs everywhere.

Honestly, after what felt like a full week of gray skies, everybody needed this. Humans included.

Summer in Brooklyn is officially back. 🐾☀️

Back in the summer of 2019, before the world changed, we put together a little ice cream social at . We had Ice Cream come through, ordered pizzas from , set up a DIY photo booth, and spent the day hanging with the pups and our community.

Simple moments. Good people. Happy dogs.
Still one of our favorite memories. ❤️
