Sorry to ask, but this is for Vito - a sweet kitty who needs a dental which I hope to get done at the PSVC clinic. Vito led a hard life outdoors for several years, before rescue, but he is soooo sweet and affectionate, it's obvious he once knew a home before likely being dumped.

He will need a new foster soon while his amazing current foster goes back to the UK... But even more than that he'll need a dental. While I'm looking at close to $1400 with the dental surgery plus the preceding blood work cost, my goal is to raise at least $1000 through donations of $5, $15, $20,25,30 or 40.

So if 50 people can donate $20 each, that goal will be reached.

After years spent scrounging outdoors, chatty Vito keeps showing how much he loves being indoors. I already gave him much needed vet care right after rescue. His dental will greatly help him, and the vet said so.

I hope I'm able to work towards my June 9 birthday wish to fundraise for Vito's dental for the entire month and through mid July🙏🏼🙏🏼🤞🏻🤞🏻💕

I love the BBAWC Rescue Clinic location and they are truly a life force for rescuers! Words are not enough to thank them!

NYC needs more more more more low cost high quality vet clinics for spay/neuter/vaccinations, all across the city, MORE awareness and action on and, an army of citizen rescuers.

Because the city has failed us and continues to do so... and the aspca - NOT to be confused with the MUCH NICER SPCAs with which they are not affiliated but took the name to deliberately create confusion - yes the corporate aspca despite its millions of dollars in funding (& offshore accounts) refuses to open more clinics - only 3 in the city (instead, they shut down clinics during the pandemic contributing to the city's animal crisis) & making booking spots for rescuers incredibly difficult. In fact they don't even allow new rescuers to book appointments since 2019. All while its CEO makes a million $$ in salary and top executives get paid high 6-figure salaries.

So, other low cost high quality clinics are the key. And the bbawc rescue clinic, its vets, staff, full team are my favorite and those of many other rescuers who want quality vet care at lower costs 😍 🙏🏼💕

Join me & Myra in wishing a very Happy Birthday to Jean - tireless advocate for animals (& yes, she's vegan) - and without whose kindness & providing space and much more, so much of would never have been possible. Over the decades Jean has helped countless cats and other animals on her own, through other non-profits, (largely on her own) and paid out of pocket for numerous animals that no one else could or would take care of, helped with adoptions, fostering, community outreach, advocacy and taking in the most vulnerable kitties that no one else wanted or simply foisted on her leaving her to care for them on her own 😥

The compassionate care she has provided to many cats cannot be summed up in brief, as it's been so immense.

She is one of the kindest people in all of NYC. Jean studied mathematics, works in software and is also the director of iconic/pioneering photographer Esther Bubley's archives.

Thanks to Jean's dedication, many cats have led/ lead better lives!

Many of Jean's numerous Fosters have found great homes, and one of her latest ones - Myra (among others) - would really love to get adopted :)

My, my, Ms Ozzy (named so & yes, after Ozzy, by the residents of the house whose backyard she'd show up at) proved to be one of THE smartest, MOST TRAP SAVVY, ELUSIVE kitty in a loooooong time, whose capture took 5 attempts - 5 long round trip drives from Park Slope to Gravesend - starting last Monday to this Sunday - and FINALLY a sigh of relief after I trapped her yesterday.

This smart kitty just WOULD NOT enter a trap all the way, nor enter a carrier though the young girl who helped me catch her had said she was easy. No, she was not -
b/c she was skittish, semi-feral and SUPER SMART!

Thank you to the precocious young 14 y/o girl Sarah who made sure Ms Ozzy & her kittens - two which were sadly killed by raccoons in her backyard weeks before I was inforned, though the other two I intook the very day after I was contacted by Sarah's aunt Emmy (a beloved Park Slope kitty-sitter).

So, with the time spent driving, vigils to trap Ozzy, get her kittens vet care, & so many other non stop stuff occurring with other kitties & cases simultaneously - with three other cat cases, two privileged/narcissistic humans showing no mercy to exhausted rescuers (& no, those two humans are NOT from the nice ones in Ozzy's case but 2 other unrelated cases ) - I have had NO BREAK the past week plus counting. Soooo, what's new? 😸😅 As my fellow rescuers know well, there's nothin' new 'bout that!

I'm just very happy /beyond exhausted that Ms Ozzy, one of THE smartest kitties I've met, will now get the vet care she deserves

She was just a kitten last fall & is already a mama 😪 - a teen mom. But no more after this. Now that I have her, off to the vet she goes

Sarah, I hope you become a vet one day. As I said, had I been informed about the kitties, ie Ozzy & her siblings, last year, they'd all have received help much earlier. And young Ms Ozzy wouldn't have had to become a mom either
