Update 7/14/25 2:00 PM: The Fire Island Inlet Bridge is now open to traffic. The Fire Island Lighthouse tower, Keepers Quarters Museum, and Lens building have reopened and will close that their regular time of 5:00 PM.

Closure Alert: Traffic Restricted on Fire Island Inlet Bridge (Robert Moses Causeway to Robert Moses State Park); Fire Island Lighthouse Closed July 14, 2025

Due to structural damage, traffic on the Fire Island Inlet bridge to Robert Moses State Park is severely restricted. Visitors, residents and essential services driving to the west end of the National Seashore should postpone their trip or travel by boat or ferry if possible. Due to restricted traffic, the Fire Island Lighthouse tower, Keepers Quarters Museum, and Lens Building will be closed to all visitation today, Monday, July 14, 2025.

We are absolutely heartbroken to hear of the passing of Kelly from

She was so kind and patient with our boy, Jinx, during his first trip to the city. On a normal day, he would have probably jumped in that ice cream cart and gone to town, but the city was a bit overwhelming and she was so sweet, and really took her time making sure he was comfortable.

We were so excited to meet her in person, we hold an annual ice cream social for our pup friends at our house for Jinx's birthday featuring The Pupper Cup and everyone goes crazy for it. This was one of those times it paid to meet your heroes- she was absolutely lovely.

Sending all of our love to her family and friends, our hearts are breaking for you.

If you plan to visit Sagamore Hill today, please note that the Nature Trail will be closed on March 11th due to forecasted dangerously high winds and the risk of falling trees. The rest of the grounds are free to enjoy until just after sunset!
