Sergeant Stubby was once a stray dog… until he became one of the most famous canine heroes of World War I.
After being found by American soldiers during training, Stubby traveled to France and stood beside the troops through some of the war’s toughest moments.
He helped warn soldiers about danger, comforted wounded men, boosted morale, and became a true symbol of loyalty and courage.
More than a century later, his story still reminds us how powerful the bond between humans and dogs can be.
This Memorial Day, we also remember the bravery, sacrifice, and companionship of all those who stood beside others in difficult times — including heroes with four paws.
