Micro isopods! The almost microscopic unsung heroes of the isopod world. Don’t let their small size fool you as in my opinion they truly fulfill their roles as a true clean up crew. Prolific, hardy, and active which can be hard to see at times due to their size (pun intended). All these small species seem to appreciate moisture throughout the include possibly due to their small size making them prone to drying out faster.

Here at Cruxian Xotics I carry a few of these small species which include Trichorina Tomentosa, Miktoniscus species, and Elumoides sp. “Miami, FL”.

Currently only Trichorhina Tomentosa are available but expect updates throughout the year. Check the link below for availability⬇️

Time to start getting more active on this page! Let’s talk about my favorite invertebrates: Springtails (Collembola).

Springtails are very much my true passion and driving force in the invertebrate hobby. I started with Yuukianura Aphuroides in 2021 and roughly 30 species later here I am still.

They have so much variation. Some jump, some have squishy bodies, some are huge for their species, some are spikey, yet they all have my heart.

Whether it’s cleaning up mold, leftover food, f***s, or bright colored addition to a terrarium there is a springtails for everyone.

Follow this link below to see my springtail availability and check some of the pics I have below! ⬇️

Two of my Ardentiella sp. “Ember”. This species is truthfully captivating. My small colony is dialed in and producing broods. I would say patience and attention to detail have given me success so far.

Some Cubaris sp. “Red Panda”. These guys don’t burrow as much as “Panda Kings” and are quite active in my care. I can’t say I have a favorite pod but these are a top 5 pod for me.

Hey everyone! I’m Ajani, the face behind this account. I am a small scale breeder of isopods, springtails, millipedes, and roaches at the moment. I like many of us was the kid that enjoyed flipping rocks to see what was underneath. Creating bins of various isopods, earthworms, and katydids and not realizing this interest would resurface as I got older.

Since 2022 I found myself breeding Yuukianura aphouroides and from there the rest is history. I love inverts and the goal of my efforts is to spark interest for new keepers, making stable captive bred cultures available, and most importantly a positive atmosphere.

I will use this page to update availability. Please be aware I do not ship from mid October to early March to avoid winter temperatures and delays. I will also add that Inonky ship within the USA. The safety of the animals always comes first for me. I do offer local drop offs but only to NYC locals sadly. My species list is always growing so please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for reading! 😁
