What a weekend at the IFA World Franchise Show in Fort Lauderdale! 🐾🌴

We loved connecting with passionate entrepreneurs and sharing how Zoom Room is transforming the dog training experience through a differentiated, community-centric, scalable model designed to meet an unmet need in pet services.

A huge thank you to our incredible Zoom Room-HQ Team for bringing the energy, teamwork and enthusiasm all weekend! 💙🧡

And, a special thank you to Saint Rocco’s Treats for sending healthy, delicious treats home with our pet parent-investors. 🐶🦴

Of course, the real star of the show was Leo! ⭐️ Our Australian Cattle Dog wowed prospects for hours with his impressive Zoom Room skills. He definitely stole the spotlight… and we’re totally okay with it! 😂🐾

POV: You spent months training your puppy…only for them to wake up one morning like, “Sit? Sorry, have we met?” 🐶😂

✅Yesterday: Nailed every cue.
🍁Today: Deeply invested in a leaf.
❓Tomorrow: Honestly, TBD.

But here’s what’s really happening: Your dog hasn’t forgotten their training. Their adolescent brain is still developing, hormones are shifting, emotions can run bigger, and the environment has become way more interesting. When excitement, frustration, or uncertainty rises, accessing familiar skills becomes harder.

💡Pro tip: Be careful not to create a poisoned cue. This happens when a word like “come” or “sit” is repeated, pressured, or followed by something unpleasant so often that your dog begins associating it with frustration instead of success. Say the cue once, lower the difficulty, and reward the response. If the cue has already developed negative baggage, introduce a fresh word and rebuild it through short, positive practice sessions.

The training is still in there…no cap. Your teenager just needs patience, consistency, and a little help finding it. 💯

Low-key trained. High-key left alone during the fourth quarter. 🏈🪴Adolescent dogs have energy, curiosity, and a remarkable talent for finding their own entertainment.

💡Pro tip: Before settling in for the game, give your dog a training session, enrichment activity, or sniff-filled walk. Meeting their needs helps set them up for success.🐾

“Why is that boot lowkey giving villain energy?…I’m gonna need some treats before I process this.” 🐶

🗓️ Yesterday: totally fine.
🗓️ Today: that yellow boot is clearly suspicious.

Adolescent dogs can experience new fear periods, causing familiar sights, sounds, or objects to suddenly feel unfamiliar.

💡Pro tip: Give your dog space, pair the scary thing with something positive, and let them investigate at their own pace. Never force the interaction. Confidence grows through choice…not pressure.

Your “teenage” dog is collecting data. Yes, they’re taking notes. 👀📝

During adolescence, dogs might start experimenting with what works.

✔️Jumping gets attention? Noted.👀
✔️Barking makes you look over? Interesting.🤔
✔️Pulling harder gets me there faster? Filing that away.📂

Every interaction gives them information..

➡️ I did this.
➡️ Something happened.
➡️ Should I try it again?

That’s why consistency matters so much during this stage. If a behavior sometimes works, even accidentally, it may be worth repeating.

Our job? Make the behaviors we want to see more often work better than the ones we don’t. Reward the check-in. Reinforce four paws on the floor. Make coming when called worth it.

Just remember…they’re not just “testing you.” They’re just learning what works. 🧠🐾

09/04/2026

We’re about to tell you to throw your dog’s breakfast on the floor.

No cap. It’s called scatter feeding..and behavioral science is here for it. 🔥🧠

Instead of serving their entire meal in a bowl, scatter some kibble across a safe space and let your dog sniff, search and forage. Why? Sniffing and foraging tap into natural behaviors, provide mental enrichment and give that busy adolescent brain something productive to focus on.

Give the nose an assignment before the teenage brain creates one of its own. 👀😂

💡PRO TIP: Start easy. Choose a quiet, safe space, scatter the food and let your dog follow their nose. As they get the hang of it, you can make the search more challenging.

And pay attention: if your normally food-motivated dog is too distracted or overwhelmed to search, that’s information, too.

Sometimes enrichment doesn’t need to be complicated.

Scatter. Sniff. Search. Reset. 🐾 Indian Trail Zoom Room 👏

🚨 EVERYONE REMAIN CALM. OUR SOCIALS HAVE NOT BEEN HACKED. 🚨

We have, however, made the questionable decision to take creative direction from a few Gen Alphas during our September “Teenage Phase” campaign.

So if you see words like mid, sus, delulu, or no cap popping up around here… congratulations. You’re learning a new language with us. 🤣…and yes, all slang remains under the watchful eye of Certified Professional Dog Trainers. The lingo may be questionable. The training advice isn’t.

But in all seriousness, adolescence is an incredibly important chapter in a young dog’s life. It can bring big feelings, selective hearing, new fears, testing boundaries, and plenty of moments that leave pet parents wondering, “Wait… what happened to my puppy?”

They’re still in there. They’re just growing up. 🧡

Throughout September, we’re here to help you understand what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how the right training and support now can help build confidence, strengthen your bond, and set your dog up for success well beyond the teenage phase.

Welcome to the chaos era. We’ve got you. No cap. 🐾

Sooo Mom says puppy class is “an investment in my teenage years.”

IDK what that means…but I get to see my trainer Sophie, so this is lowkey fire. 🔥🐶

For the older humans: that means very exciting. Nothing is actually on fire. The fire department does not need to be involved. 🚒😂

Next stop🚙: Zoom Room for puppy class. No cap….(we can save the definition for “no cap” on another post) 🐾
