Founded to help rescue groups focus on their core mission of saving lives, to continue improving the field of animal welfare, and with the knowledge that we can do better, RescueNYC is the first organization of its kind benefiting NYC's shelter animals and community cats by offering tangible on-site services in a dedicated community space. RescueNYC serves both rescue groups and the general public, and is the first true community resource for animal welfare in NYC.

Dallas was born on the streets of Queens. She was part of a large colony a wonderful Community Cat Caretaker is working to get under control.

RescueNYC has been working with the caretaker since the start of the year to help provide spay/neuter, vaccinations, flea treatments and pre/post spay and neuter holding.
(THANK YOU to our supporters for making this possible!)

💛 RescueNYC knew that since Dallas was still young there was hope to give her a second chance and to get her off the streets!

🐱We transferred Dallas into our socialization program and began working with her immediately.

💛Dallas quickly showed us how grateful she was not to be returned to the harsh life of living outside. After starting our socialization program she welcomed all attention and loves making biscuits.

🐱We are happy to report with the extra time and love given to Dallas-she is available for adoption! Email: [email protected] for more information

🐱Dallas would not have this second chance without caring individuals like yourself supporting our mission!

Barely surviving on the streets of NYC, Cinder showed up at a managed colony - thin, unkempt, and starving.

After successfully trapping her and a day to decompress in a warm, calm environment- Cinder showed her true personality. She loved attention, and was a confident girl once she knew she was safe and loved.

Thanks to our supporters - Cinder was able to be given a second chance ! We treated her for a few minor medical concerns and once cleared for adoption - she was placed at Koneko Cat Cafe.

She loved her time at Koneko, and quickly became a staff and guest favorite - not only for her beautiful soft fur but for her diva like personality. She was adopted into a loving home and will never be on the streets of NYC again.

RescueNYC could not do this work without the support of our donors. It takes a village to do rescue and we are so grateful to each and every person who supports our mission of helping NYC’s Cats Thrive!

Lyric is one of the lucky cats who found their way to RescueNYC for Trap-Neuter-Return pre/post spay holding.

💛While caring for Lyric our team knew she had potential for life indoors and began working to access her.

🐱She was a quick learner and eagerly welcomed all the attention. We are happy to report that Lyric and her brother Sonnet (who we took for placement too) are extremely friendly, affectionate and bonded!

🏡 This sister -brother pair are available for adoption and would do well in most homes!

😻Thanks to YOUR support these siblings are off the streets of NYC & awaiting their forever family. For more information please on Lyric & Sonnet 📧: [email protected]

Partnering with means more second chances for NYC’s Cats! Supporters like YOU- make saving cats like Sabrina possible!

🐱Sabrina (FKA Wrinkles) came into the shelter after coming from a hoarding case, at the shelter she was extremely shut down and depressed.

🐱Upon intake to RescueNYC- while shy and very thin she was extremely sweet!

💛Our team worked at her pace to help her learn to trust humans and she truly blossom into the companion cat we knew she could be!

🐱After being cleared medically and behaviorally Sabrina moved to where she was able to free roam with other adoptable RescueNYC cats while awaiting adoption.

💛Sabrina was adopted into a loving home where she now has a big sister- enjoys lots of toys and a warm, loving family to call her own.

👏We could not do this work without YOUR support! We are so grateful for every individual who supports our mission and allows us the privilege to give NYC Cats a second chance.

Thanks to YOUR support RescueNYC was able to help two puppies this year!

🐶The first pup was Ivan - pulled from the city shelter at the start of the year, after coming in with bite wounds of an unknown origin.

💛He was only about 12 weeks old and already suffered so much pain. His wounds covered his neck, head and stomach.

💛Once in our care RescueNYC maintained twice weekly vet visits to help keep his wounds clean and in home care of oral and topical medications. After months of treatment he started to gain his strength and the bite wounds began to heal, only leaving scars behind.

🎉YOUR support allowed Ivan to mend, and fully experience all the joys life has to offer.

💛We are happy to report Ivan was cleared medically, adopted and living his best life thanks to YOU!

🐱🐶We are a tiny, all volunteer organization that solely relies on the kindness of animal lovers like yourself to help us give second chances to animas in need! THANK YOU to all our supporters, we could not do this work without you!

Many of the cats we place for adoption come through the New Hope Program. The goal of New Hope is to work with local rescues, such as RescueNYC to transfer animals into their adoption/care programs.

🐱As a New Hope Partner, we accepted Soji, after she spent weeks at the city shelter- due to being positive for ringworm. After seeing a third request for help for Soji we knew she needed more TLC and monitoring.

💛Once with RescueNYC we started her on our Ringworm Protocol, which includes weekly baths and a lengthy oral medication schedule.

🐱Thanks to YOUR support we are happy to report - Soji was cleared of ringworm and after being showcased at she is currently in a foster to adopt home!

🫶Success stories like Soji’s could not happen without our valued donors & volunteers who  make it possible to care for and place cats that need a little extra TLC.

Lucy showed up in a managed colony behind a restaurant in Queens. Extremely timid - she would not come near the caretaker even after weeks of routine feedings.

💛Knowing the next steps would be TNR (Trap Neuter Return) to ensure she would not have any kittens and to check for any possible microchip, her caretaker reached out to RescueNYC for post spay holding.

🐱When we met Lucy after her surgery she was nervous but there was a very gentle spirit about her. We moved her to a crate to give her more room and to further assess.

😻The next day we walked into a very different feline! She was chatty, rubbing her body on the crate and just extremely eager for attention.

🎉We accepted Lucy into our program and after all her medical needs were addressed she was available for adoption.

🏡As for all our adoptions, we are firm believers in finding the right match for both the cat and people to ensure a successful adoption! Lucy found the most perfect family and truly is living her best life!

🙏We don’t know Lucy’s story before finding her way to RescueNYC but thanks to YOU Lucy was able to be assessed at our holding space, received medical care, comfort and was taken off the streets of NYC!

🐱These cats would not be saved without the support of caring individuals who believe in our mission of Helping NYC’s Community Cats Thrive!
