Brooklyn Bun Dad Hi everybun! NYC based rabbit rescuer
Adoption & bonding counselor for NYC ACC

Hi everybun!

There are a lot of rabbit groups out there, but not many that center bonding in a structured, welfare-informed, lower stress way. Bonding can feel overwhelming, and I wanted to create a space that focuses on calm, data driven approaches and real-life examples people can learn from.

For context, I have been a bonding counselor for multiple local rescues and the city shelter for many years, helping pairs work through everything from easy intros to more complex cases. I created this space to share that experience in a way that is accessible and completely free.

I’ve also hosted a Discord channel about rabbit bonding for a few years and have gotten very good feedback, which is why i wanted to extend it to Facebook.

The bonding guide itself is always free, and the group is where we tailor it to your specific buns and situation.

If this sounds helpful:

Everything is free. No paywalls, sponsored products or affiliate links.

Admins, if there is a problem with this post I will take it down. I didn’t see anything about talking about pages and groups, so I figured this would be okay

Hi everybun 🐰

I just launched a new Facebook group called Stress-Free Rabbit Bonding and I would genuinely love your support.

If you have followed my work with Brooklyn Bun Dad, you know my mission has always been to make rabbit care resources data driven, ethical, welfare informed, and completely free. Bonding is one of the most stressful parts of rabbit care, and I have seen how much easier it becomes when people can actually share real examples, setups, videos, and experiences with each other.

That is what this group is for.

It is a space where rabbit parents can:
• Get help tailored to their specific bonding stage
• Share wins and setbacks
• Learn from real life examples
• Ask questions without judgment

The bonding guide itself is always free at brooklynbundad.com/bonding, and the group is meant to make that information more personalized and collaborative.

If you have rabbits, know someone who does, or are in any pet related circles, I would really appreciate you:
• Joining the group
• Inviting anyone who might benefit
• Sharing it with rabbit communities

Building something new always starts a little quiet, but I believe in what this can become. My goal is to make rabbit bonding education accessible to everyone.

Bonding Rabbit bonding is one of the most misunderstood aspects of rabbit care. Much of the advice available online focuses on shortcuts, rigid timelines, or stress-based methods that promise fast results. In reality, bonding is not a single event or technique. It is a process shaped by physiology,....

The internet makes rabbit spay and neuter sound catastrophic.

Modern data in healthy elective cases? Under 1%.

Not zero.
Not catastrophic.

Hi everybun! 🐰

My name is JD, but you may know me as Brooklyn Bun Dad.

I created Brooklyn Bun Dad to make reliable, rescue-driven, and data-backed rabbit information accessible to everyone. When I first started my journey with rabbits, it was difficult to find clear, practical guidance in one place. Much of what I learned came from experience, mentorship, trial, and many lessons along the way.

My introduction to working with animals started with wildlife rehabilitation. From there, I went on to work in animal behavior roles within zoological institutions. Over the years, I have also served as a bonding counselor for local rescues and the NYC city shelter. These experiences shaped how I approach rabbit care. I focus on evidence-based information, behavioral understanding, and practical application that works in real homes.

Brooklynbundad.com was created as a free resource to help guardians feel confident and prepared. The goal is simple: equip people with the knowledge they need to be the best bunny guardians possible.

On the site you will find guidance on:

• Rabbit behavior and communication
• Bonding fundamentals and expectations
• Welfare-focused care practices
• Common challenges and how to approach them thoughtfully
• Rescue-informed insights from real-world experience

This is not about reinventing the wheel. It is about organizing reliable information in a way that is approachable, grounded in behavior science, and informed by hands-on rescue work.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside rescues and shelters and to learn from so many rabbits over the years. Every bun teaches something new. My hope is that by sharing what I have learned, more rabbits can thrive in informed, compassionate homes.

Thank you for being here and for caring so deeply about your rabbits. 💛

Miss you, Trudy 🪽
