Not only do we provide the only NO KILL facility in the Newburgh, New York area, but we are also the only source of Humane Law Enforcement in Orange County. Our dedicated staff and team of volunteers protect and defend animals and actively seek loving homes for each and every one of them – homes where they will be cared for and loved for the rest of their lives.

The Hudson Valley SPCA does NOT receive funds from federal, state or local municipalities. And we are NOT funded by the national organization, the ASPCA. Our work is funded solely by donations from our supporters. When you donate to the Hudson Valley SPCA, you can be sure that your contribution is used wisely. Over 75% of donations go directly to animal care with remaining funds going to support services. The Hudson Valley SPCA is a registered 501 (c) 3 so all of your donations are fully tax deductible. Sophie is striking a pose! 🤩

This beauty is only a year old and a Rottie mix. She can be a little shy with new people, but warms up when you spend a little time with her. She's cautious, gentle, and gains her confidence on walks. We're still getting to know her, so we encourage coming to meet her!

Stop by our New Windsor location any day, minus Wednesdays, between 12 PM and 4 PM to meet her! She's also got a sibling surrendered at the same time named Stella...stay tuned for her post. 👀

Our New Windsor pets of the week are: HUDSON & BENTLEY.
Hudson is a longtime resident looking for his forever home! Bentley is our cat with the permanent "grumpy old man" face...he's a wonderful senior cat...would probably do better at an only cat home, no young kids or loud noises. Any seniors looking to give this sweet senior man a home!? Stop by the shelter and visit them today!

Last week's line dancing event with Location Line Dancing and DJ Grand Finale at City Winery Hudson Valley was a fun time! 🤠

Everyone got to dance and raise money for the animals. Thank you to the hosts and event coordinators (Tracey) for organizing this and to our volunteer Kathy for setting up a booth for the shelter!

Meet a very happy guy named Taz! 😄

He was found as stray and is ready to go to his forever home! He's only about one year old and seems to have a positive outlook on life. He loves to sniff every blade of grass on walks and has a gentle, playful disposition.

Come meet this sweetie! He likes all people and seems okay with other dogs (though we always suggest a meet & greet with any dogs in the home). 🐶 Cat testing can be done for serious inquiries. 😺

🚨***UPDATE: TOSTADA MADE IT THROUGH SURGERY TODAY WITH FLYING COLORS AND WAS SITTING ON THE MEDICAL COORDINATORS DESK AT THE HOSPITAL IN A KITTY BED WHILE SHE RECOVERED. She was enjoying all of the attention from the doctors and techs. SHE IS SUCH A SWEET GIRL!

🗣️We got her back to the shelter after a 20 minute car ride SERENADE of her expressing to us that "SHE WAS STARVING" and wanted to eat! WOO HOO! THAT IS MUSIC TO OUR EARS! She devoured a can of pate mixed with bisque gravy to make it soupy, since she had all but 2 of her teeth removed.

👉THANKFULLY she didn't have anything wrong with her jawbone or have the ugly "C" word. It was all dental disease; bad teeth and the abscess was caused by her loose teeth rubbing her gums and creating trauma and infection. She is now on the mend and thanks everyone for contributing to her care!

💥A VERY SPECIAL thanks to everyone that donated to her surgery, especially a person who donated $1000 but wants to remain anonymous...thank you "DM"...you have given Tostada ("TOASTY") a reason to SMILE again! (Might be all gums, but she's happy!! 😁)

HE'S BEEN ADOPTED!! 🥳

Any Rottweiler fans out there? 👀

Meet Tyson, a 1 year old, mushy boy hoping to find his forever home. Seriously, look at that face. 🥹 He's very well behaved and loves to give paw. 🐾

We're still getting to know him, so he would need a meet & greet with any other dogs in the house and we can cat test for serious inquiries.

Can we get some shares for this good boy? He's currently at our New Windsor location. No appointment needed to meet him, just visit any day minus Wednesday between 12-4 PM. Check the comments for application info! 👇

🐾👉We'd like to introduce you to the New Windsor pets of the week! Please meet Rebel & Emesis *(yes, for those in the medical profession...we know what Emesis is) ...apparently the vet tech that named her had a funny sense of humor that day! LOL

If you love the.... BIG 🐾 GOOFY 💙 LOVEABLE 💙 dogs that DROOL 🤤 ...Rebel is for you! He is a mastiff mix. His history is a mystery. If you like cats that are "sassy princesses" mixed with a "little sweet"...then EMESIS is for you! She's 4 months young, talkative (likes to complain even when she likes something you are doing to her...LOL). It's early to tell, but she might be best as an only cat, or placed with a submissive/timid sister/brother. Stop by and see them both in New Windsor at 940 Little Britain Rd (Route 207) between 12-4pm daily (except for Wednesdays).
