A week ago today, we lost a really special one, after being blessed with so many wonderful years with him.
Tanzi was as impressed with himself as we were with him. He was always willing to try anything asked of him. Back in the day, there was a viral “two tempi challenge”, and he happily did over 40 two tempis in a row. He loved trail rides, back scratches in the pasture from his long time buddy Winston, and loved to go to horse shows and clinics. He won several regional championships from Second Level through I-1. But more than anything, he was just a pleasure to love and spend time with for so many years. I’ve loved having him here at home in his retirement. His owner Linda and I are missing him terribly. But as they say, grief is the price we pay for love…

Thank you for sharing 27 of your 35 years with me, as my dance partner up through Grand Prix, and sweetest friend through to your last minutes. It was truly my honor.

Many congrats to Fay Lewis for winning your 3/3 classes both days at the Haras Hacienda show this weekend on your very very good boy Cobalto! First time competing at this test, and already qualified for regionals. After beginning your dressage showing career just over 6 months ago, you’ve earned your USDF Bronze Medal and have the fourth level scores toward your silver… lots of hard work you should be proud of!
Also, thank you for the opportunity to ride your exceptionally talented boy, Fraggle. The future is bright with that special boy! (Fraggle pictured, since I had no pics of Cobalto this weekend).
