Introducing Coastal Creek's Left Long Rigger
RIGG - Hunting Retreiver Champion
Rouxfus taught me so much and he passed on so much talent to this pup.
With a HUGE thank you to the MPR team and especially Carter Turner who built the wonderful foundation on this pup. He is a joy to run and exactly what I had hoped for....a big 454 motor that's as easy to take to the drag strip as he is for a Sunday drive after church. Everyone in this dog world we live and compete in thinks their dog is special - and they are. However for me I have been blessed with a second chance with a once in a lifetime dog. For years as I came up thru the game, people would tell me enjoy the journey and that was hard when your first dog is way more dog than a novice should have. But we persevered and trained and most importantly learned. I see so much of Rouxfus in Rigg but more importantly I see Rigg and we enjoy this game together. Working together, playing together and dreaming of the future together.
Ironically I had wanted to run a test at the Steve Ferguson Memorial Retriever Grounds in Emporia Virginia so we headed up there this weekend to see if we could earn our HRCH title. When we arrived on the grounds I looked at MK and said "I think I ran a field trial here with Rouxfus". As the weekend unfolded and we moved thru the property, images and visions of years ago flashed and I kept asking myself had I really been here before.
As fate would have it, I confirmed tonight that Rouxfus and I had our best performance ever running in the Amateur division of a field trial held on these grounds 8 years ago.
How fitting is it that his son would earn his HRCH title at 26 months old on these same grounds?!
A special thanks to Jerry Imprevento for his work capturing these special photos of Rigg
