Another round of PK Dress up and graduations!

These girls have worked hard and come away with some great skills! Congratulations graduates!

Look at our Puppy K students on dress up day! Learning to have things put on our bodies has never been cuter!

We also bid farewell to our PK graduates Banks and Biggs today! Way to go boys! Their owners Abby and Ava have done wonderful work with them!

Look at Willie (14 years old) go! He can do his own nails!

After showing his owners Billee and Wayne how to properly use a scratchboard, they’ve hit the ground running!

Billee and Wayne are starting an amazing chapter of traveling the country camping. Being away from their local vet/groomer could put them in a hard spot for nail care. Not anymore! Nail care has become easy, AND mobile!

Can you imagine how Willie and Pickles must feel? Something they used to HATE, has turned into a full-blown PARTY!

Check the comments for more video footage!

Way to go Billee and Wayne! I hope you dazzle everyone across the country with your dogs who can “do their own nails.”

Safe travels to all of you!

This is Recon, with his owners Kyle and Anna. Kyle and Anna came to Upward Hound with a vast knowledge about dogs and their behavior.

Kyle asked me one night if I ever had a “bad” client. I told him no, but I did struggle with some folks buying into our force/fear-free methods because of the outdated things we were all taught about dog handling.

Kyle smiled at me and said “That’s me. I didn’t believe this was gonna work until I saw you getting Recon to do things I couldn’t get him to do. This works.”

Talk about having your entire year made! Thanks so much Kyle for being honest about your skepticism, and for having the character depth to come tell me you were wrong!

Congratulations to Anna, Kyle and Recon for being so open to learning new things, and for completing Recon’s training so beautifully!

Fantastic work! We already miss you!

Another set of Life Skills 101 graduates! Bentley and Granger made such great progress in class!

They were both able to ace the “Leave It Challenge”! Both dogs were able to have their whole names spelled out, without pursuing the treats! Way to go guys!

Congratulations on your graduations boys! We’ll miss you!

Our latest Life Skills 101 grads did an AWESOME job at their leave it exercise! The dogs were able to wait patiently while their owners spelled out their names! What a great group!

Congratulations to all of you. It was a true pleasure to have you all in class!

Also, whatever you do, don’t zoom in on Koda’s face in her graduation photo…….😍😂

Another round of Puppy K dress up night, AND graduations!

Also, KIRBY GRADUATED! You kind of had to be there, and many of you were! Kirby started off as an observer, from the kitchen, for 30 minutes at a time.

We were slowly able to increase his proximity to his classmates, and he was able to stay for the entire hour of class as well!

Way to go Kirby! Congratulations Puppy K graduates!

Puppy Kindergarten had dress-up night again! Look at these cuties!!

All these pups have been slowly introduced to wearing things on their bodies. We try to set our owners up for success in case the puppies NEED to wear something in the future.

We may have to put a cone or a diaper on our dogs at some point in their lives. It’s best to “get ahead of the game” and introduce them to these practices early. (with lots of snacks and praise, of course!)

Great job puppies!
