It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beloved member of our Best Care Animal Hospital family, Laura.
For many of our clients, Laura was the first smile they saw when they walked through our doors. For our staff, she was so much more than a coworker. She was a mentor, a leader, a friend, and family.
Laura dedicated decades of her life to Best Care, beginning in our original building and growing alongside the hospital as it evolved. Throughout the years, she served in many roles, including receptionist, receptionist manager, kennel manager, and assistant manager, leaving her mark on every corner of our practice. She helped shape the standard of compassion, professionalism, and care that continues to guide us today.
Her impact reached far beyond her job title. Laura organized countless Chasco Parade entries, helped coordinated Pet Walk events, welcomed new team members, celebrated birthdays, created name tags, made special jackets, ordered scrub tops (she LOVED her paw print scrubs) the list goes on and on and on. Laura always found ways to make others feel seen and appreciated. She had a gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel like they belonged.
Many of us grew up with Laura. She watched staff members’ children become adults, cared for thm when we were sick, kept them busy with coloring pages and volunteer name tags, she would go out of her way to make sure staff could focus on work and she could keep the kids safe and busy. She made the hospital feel like a second home. She celebrated our successes, supported us through difficult times, and never hesitated to help someone in need.
Her roots run deep within our Best Care family. Through her children, grandchildren, coworkers, and the countless clients whose lives she touched, her legacy will continue for generations to come.
Today, every hallway, every desk, every intercom call every “Hi, Have you been helped” among other familiar traditions reminds us of Laura. The loss we feel is immeasurable, but so is the gratitude we have for the years we were blessed to know and love her.
Thank you, Laura, for everything you gave to our hospital, our amazing clients, and our families. Best Care will never be the same without you, but your impact will forever remain a part of who we are.
We love you. We miss you. We will never forget you.
Always and Forever our #1.
