It has been an incredibly heavy couple of weeks for our friends at Villalobos Rescue Center - Life 4 Paws, Inc..
First, sweet Nobel, who was fostered and deeply loved by one of the VRC employees, passed away.
Then on Thursday, Jenny and our friends with the Kajun Kitties had to say goodbye to their sweet Hattie.
And yesterday, another devastating loss. Tia and the VRC family said goodbye to Barney, one of the beloved and infamous โBluez Brothersโ, after lymphoma progressed far too quickly.
There really arenโt words for what it feels like to watch loss after loss hit the people who spend every single day caring for animals that so many others forgot. Their hearts are hurting. They are exhausted. And somehow, the work still has to continue.
This is one of the reasons Remember To Paws exists.
When VRC loses one of their own, we try to step in and cover end-of-life expenses, cremation, and memorial keepsakes whenever we can. We want the caretakers who loved these animals, sat with them, cleaned their kennels, gave medications, celebrated their good days, and held them through their last ones to be able to bring a piece of them home. And by helping cover those costs, we can also take one more financial burden off VRC so their resources can continue going toward the hundreds of animals still depending on them.
Right now, we are asking our community to help us carry a little bit of this weight.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us honor Nobel, Hattie, Barney, and the precious souls who will unfortunately need us next.
For the animals who were loved until the very end.
For the people whose hearts break every time they have to say goodbye.
And for the work that has to continue even while everyone is grieving.
Please consider donating and sharing, and please keep our friends at Villalobos in your thoughts as they navigate so much heartbreak. ๐ค
