Whether you spell it luffa or loofah, these beauties are starting to come in! Luffa is the sponge that grows in the garden, and they thrive in our long, hot, humid summers. I love peeling them--volume up for the satisfying sound--and thought you might like to see how it happens. Enjoy!

Picked these two beauties this morning before heading out on a little road trip! Ideally, they would've stayed on the plants another couple of days, but I picked them today to take with us. They smell amazing, so I'm sure they'll be tasty.

Growing pineapples takes patience. These took three years to produce fruit. But if you have the patience (and the right climate), they're easy and pretty much free since you can grow them from the top of a previous pineapple or from the pups produced by the existing plant. Plus, it's so rewarding, not to mention delicious, to eat a homegrown pineapple!

This stack of beeswax (I wish you could smell it!) is the result of melting and cleaning all the wax cappings from the last few honey harvests. I still am amazed that bees make this stuff! I'll be using a bit of this stack for making candles.
