🐾 Welcome Luna to Mutts off Main! 🐾

Luna came in needing a little extra help keeping her rear end clean, and a sanitary trim was just what she needed!

Even short-haired cats can sometimes use a little help in this area. A sanitary trim can help keep the hair around their backside cleaner and make those messy cleanups a little easier for both you and your kitty.

Welcome, Luna! 💕 You did great for your first groom! 🐾

🐱🛁 Not all cats hate bath time!

Some actually surprise you and handle their spa day like little pros. 💕 This sweet kitty did so well and proved that a calm, patient approach can make all the difference.

Not every cat is a bath hater! 😻

Crabby Cats Need a Different Approach!

Crabby, fearful, or defensive cats often require a little more patience, the right tools, and a different approach.

Leo wasn’t able to keep up with grooming his back end, which left him pretty matted. And… he wasn’t exactly thrilled about me fixing it.
For cats like Leo, I use:

🐾 A calm demeanor and plenty of patience
🐾 A vet cone to help protect the cat from accidental clipper or shear injuries — and to protect my hands from bites
🐾 Scratch sleeves to protect my hands and arms
🐾 The right tools to safely remove mats

But one of the most important parts of grooming a cat is knowing when to stop. Sometimes pushing through just isn’t worth the stress it puts on the them (dogs or cats)

That also means a cat’s groom may not always look perfect — and that’s okay. ❤️ The goal is to get them comfortable, clean, and mat-free while keeping the experience as calm and safe as possible.

And sometimes, a cat is simply too stressed for a regular grooming setting. When that happens, I may recommend having the groom done through a veterinarian with sedation . That isn't giving up — it's knowing when a different option is safest for the cat. 🐱

With cats, sometimes comfort comes before perfection. 🐱💕
