Yesterday, we at Equest suffered a tremendous loss, we had to lay our very own legend, Don’t Gamble or better know as Gambler to rest. Gambler was 34 and we were lucky enough to have him for 25 of those years. He was an OTTB and only stood 15.1, but he had more personality, sass, stride, and scope, then most horses well over 17h. In his show career he did everything from carting around tiny tots in the mini stirrup all the way up to the Big Eq and picked up many ribbons along the way. He was larger than life itself. Everyone knew not to wake him up in the morning because then you would get Grumps instead of Gambler. He would always take extra special care of his tiny tot riders and would make sure to “help teach” the bigger more experienced riders to not grind with their seat or catch in the mouth. All the way up to the end he always had his sass but was also such a love bug and wanted nothing more than to just itch and rest his head on your back or shoulder. He was the most reliable horse and always tried his hardest for you. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
