CHOCOLATE Update: For those following the cruelty case of the fawn male from BARC and his Malinois brother, I took Choc to my vet today who has confirmed he IS blind, but the good news is he doesn't appear to have pain in his eyes. The eyeballs themselves are very small suggesting poor breeding, the third eyelid is down nearly all the time but due to smallness in size of the eyeball his lids don't appear to close them enough always to keep out dust/debris which causes them to be red. I am looking into protective doggles which will cover his eyes, his forehead and face enough to help protect him . We have a halo which isn't sufficient for him ..... The GOOD news is he weighed 84 lbs today a FAR cry from 60 when I got him. He's happy, he's loving he's thriving and that's the best I can ask for. He is safe with us and we love him

of you following the cruelty case boys we pulled three weeks ago thought I'd post a picture taken an hour ago of the Doberman who was in such horrific shape. GOOD food and love certainly has made a difference, CHOC is doing great

One of the harder parts of hospice is losing a friend. Today Hudson lost his Betsie, the "boss" she who brought him joy and made him feel alive. I lost a girl who showed me love and who overcame serious health limitations to stay here for a year and thrive. Wobblers is a hard disease that robs them of their independence and dignity. She fought to keep both. Today I gave her back to God and held her as she made that journey. Find the stars beautiful girl and chase the moon. You're whole again and strong. I've told Hudson you'd come around him often and lend him courage when he needs it. I know you will. Thank you for your friendship and love, fly high sweet baby
