Say hello to Murphy and we love him ! 💕
He was recently diagnosed with Addison’s Disease. His mom knew he was not acting like himself over a period of time and she scheduled an appointment to get him checked out.

Addison’s disease (hypoadrenocorticism) occurs when the adrenal glands don’t produce enough important hormones. It can affect dogs of any age, and the symptoms may be subtle or come and go.

Watch for signs such as:
🐶 Lethargy or weakness
💧 Increased thirst or urination
🍽️ Decreased appetite
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
⚖️ Weight loss
😴 Unusual tiredness or collapse

Because these signs can look like many other illnesses, proper testing is important.

Early diagnosis and lifelong management can help dogs with Addison’s disease live happy, healthy lives. ❤️🐾

Urinary Crystals in Dogs & Cats: Don’t Ignore the Signs!

🚩 Watch for signs such as:
• Straining or difficulty urinating
• Frequent trips to the litter box or outside
• Blood in the urine
• Urinating in unusual places
• Licking the ge***al area more than usual
• Crying or showing discomfort while urinating

💧 Good hydration is important for urinary health, but crystals can have different causes and types. If your pet is showing urinary symptoms, a veterinary exam and urine testing can help determine what’s going on and the best treatment or diet for your pet.

⚠️ Important: If your cat—especially a male cat—is repeatedly trying to urinate but producing little or no urine, this can be an emergency. Seek veterinary care immediately.

Healthy urinary habits start with paying attention to the little signs. ❤️🐶🐱

August in Texas continues to crank up the heat !!! 🥵

Don’t forget to protect your dogs and pay attention to the signs ☀️🐾

🚨 What to look for :
• Excessive or heavy panting
• Drooling
• Weakness or wobbliness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red or pale gums
• Collapse or loss of consciousness

🌡️ Help keep your pet safe:
• Never leave your dog in a parked car—even for a few minutes
• Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day
• Provide plenty of fresh, cool water and shade
• Be extra cautious with puppies, senior dogs, overweight dogs, and flat-faced breeds

Heat stroke is a veterinary emergency. If you suspect your dog is overheating, move them to a cool area and contact a veterinarian immediately.

💙 A few simple precautions can help keep your best friend safe, happy, and cool all summer long!
