Five years ago, Urban Mutt found its home. And somehow, along with a building, we got the very best neighbors, landlords, clients, and—most importantly—friends. ❤️

Kris and Amy were Urban Mutt clients long before we ever became their tenants, trusting us with their sweet pups Daisy, Bode, and Indie. When the opportunity came for us to move into their building five years ago, we had no idea just how lucky we were.

Over the years, they’ve been so much more than the people who own our building. They’ve cheered us on, supported our little business, brought their dogs through our doors every six weeks, and been the kind of neighbors and friends you simply can’t put a price on.

There’s something really special about coming to work every day knowing that on either side of Urban Mutt are people we genuinely love and businesses we’re proud to call our neighbors—Kris at Buck and Sons Construction and Amy at Lucky Bucks Formal Wear.

Small businesses are built on relationships. On people showing up for one another, believing in one another, and choosing to support one another year after year. Kris and Amy have done that for us in more ways than we could ever fit into one Facebook post.

So today, we just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for five wonderful years in this space. Thank you for trusting us with Daisy, Bode, and Indie. Thank you for being incredible landlords and neighbors. But most of all, thank you for being our friends.

We couldn’t have asked for better people to share a building—or this chapter of Urban Mutt—with. ❤️🐾

Today we found out some very sad news, we were relayed the news that K9 classmates would no longer be operating in New Braunfels, for those of you who aren’t familiar with them, they are a program that brought dogs to elementary school rooms and libraries to encourage children to read and give them support through difficult times, we have had the privilege of knowing some of those dogs and their families, and some of the children, in fact our children also know these pets and their owners/handlers, this organization and theirs dogs made a huge impact in our community and this will be a very big loss to all of us, we would like to take this time to thank them for letting us be a small part of the almost 20 years that they helped so many kids and brought smiles to their faces, Donna’s vision to help our community was a selfless and so very important. As someone who has struggled with childhood trauma and severe dyslexia, I can only imagine how much I could have benefited from such a great cause, we hope this will not be their last chapter in this amazing town, thank all who helped make it such an important part of the lives who needed them.

Pictured here is Beaux and I, one of the amazing dogs that enters the classrooms in our community that is such an important part of this program.
