In Loving Memory of Our Matriarch, Sasha
Sasha was peacefully laid to rest here at the farm on August 27th. She was surrounded by her beloved pack when she departed, and that means more to us—and to her pack—than words can express.
Sasha single-handedly and profoundly changed our farm in countless ways for the better over the years. Little did we know when she first came to us that her strong, feisty, playful, and confident presence would so beautifully mirror the natural ways of wolves in the wild, despite having been domesticated her entire life.
She was truly the heart and matriarch of her pack. Her teachings of respect, unity, compassion, and togetherness live on through every member of her pack. Because of Sasha, they are confident, loving, helpful, and playfully sweet with one another. Watching her guide them was a true blessing. If a pup was being inappropriate, it often took nothing more than one look from Sasha for the lesson to be understood. She commanded respect without ever needing to be harsh.
Even after everything this sweet girl had experienced before coming to us, Sasha remained one of the most beautiful, loving, and completely cuddly souls. She had a way of sharing her love and her very soul simply by looking into your eyes. There was something incredibly special about her presence—something you felt more than you could ever put into words.
At 14 years old, Sasha was considered extremely elderly in the world of Wolfdogs. After losing our other beloved matriarch, Storm, earlier this year, Sasha had slowed down considerably. Her body was tired, and we knew her time had come.
But Sasha does not end here.
Her lessons live on. Her spirit lives on. Her love lives on—in her pack, in all of us, and in the farm she helped shape so profoundly.
She will forever be our matriarch, our teacher, our beautiful girl, and an irreplaceable part of our family.
Run free, sweet Sasha. Your pack will carry you with them always.
