Your cat may seem perfectly healthy… but when was their last checkup? 🩺💕

Cats are experts at hiding signs of illness and discomfort. Sometimes, the earliest signs of a health problem are subtle changes that are easy to miss at home.

Why are regular wellness exams so important?
🐾 Help detect health concerns early, before they become more serious.
🐾 Monitor weight and body condition to keep your kitty healthy.
🐾 Check dental health and look for signs of oral pain.
🐾 Monitor for common feline conditions, including kidney disease, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism.
🐾 Keep vaccinations, parasite prevention, and other preventive care up to date.
🐾 Establish a health baseline so we can recognize changes over time.

How often should your cat visit the vet?
At Felines First, we ideally recommend wellness exams every 6 months, with at least one exam every year, for every cat. Cats age more quickly than we do, and six months can make a meaningful difference when it comes to identifying changes in their health. Senior cats and those with chronic health conditions may benefit from even more frequent visits.

Remember, a checkup isn't just for when something seems wrong. Preventive care is one of the best ways to help your feline family member enjoy a longer, healthier, and happier life! 🐾🐈

🐱💚 Products We Love: URSOLYX™ Muscle Support Chews!

Did you know that cats can lose muscle mass as they age? Maintaining muscle strength is an important part of keeping our feline friends active, mobile, and enjoying their best lives!

Unlike traditional joint supplements, URSOLYX focuses specifically on muscle health and strength.

🐾 What makes it special?
✨ Contains ursolic acid, a natural compound derived from sage extract, designed to support healthy muscle function.
✨ Helps maintain muscle strength and mobility in aging, active, or recovering cats.
✨ May be worth discussing for cats experiencing age-related muscle loss or a decline in their ability to jump, play, or move around comfortably.
✨ Easy-to-give, bacon-flavored soft chews with a convenient once-daily recommendation.

Curious whether URSOLYX might be a good fit for your cat? Ask us at your next visit!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

🐱Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day! 💙🐱

Did you know that extra pounds can have a big impact on your cat’s health? 🐾

While a little extra fluff might look cute, excess weight can increase the risk of diabetes, arthritis, heart and respiratory problems, and other health concerns. Even a small amount of weight loss can make a big difference in your cat’s quality of life!

A few ways to help your feline friend stay healthy:
🐾 Measure meals rather than free-feeding.
🐾 Keep treats to a minimum and account for them in daily calories.
🐾 Encourage daily play and activity with toys, climbing spaces, and interactive games.
🐾 Schedule regular wellness visits to monitor your cat’s weight and body condition.

💙 Every cat has an ideal weight, and it may be different from what you think! If you’re unsure whether your cat is at a healthy weight, we’re happy to help you develop a plan tailored to their individual needs.

Let’s help our feline friends live longer, healthier, and happier lives! 🐈

We are excited to announce that we now offer Adapet Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) - a glucose monitor specifically designed for cats (and that other species we don't mention)!

For our diabetic patients, Adapet gives us a much more complete picture of what their blood sugar is doing throughout the day - not just a single glucose reading or a traditional glucose curve.

✨ Why we love Adapet:
• 🩸 No repeated blood draws — a small sensor is placed on the skin in just a few minutes
• 📊 Continuous glucose monitoring — glucose readings are collected every few minutes. Sensors last up to 14 days.
• 🏠 Monitor at home — owners can see their pet's glucose trends through the Adapet app
• 👩‍⚕️ Veterinary monitoring — we can review the same data through our veterinary portal
• 🔍 See trends, not just numbers — helping us better understand how glucose changes throughout the day
• ❤️ Less stress for our feline patients — no repeated pokes and fewer stressful glucose curves

Adapet was developed specifically for veterinary patients, giving us a powerful new tool to help individualize diabetes management and make treatment decisions with more information.

If your cat has diabetes, ask our team whether an Adapet CGM could be helpful for them! 🐾💙
