Uphill Dressage A full service dressage boarding/training facility Our onsite trainer/instructor is owner/manager and Bronze medalist Tamara Heckman.

Uphill Dressage is situated on 50 rolling acres overlooking the Laurel Ridge about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Owned by Tamara and Chris Heckman, the facility is strongly committed to providing a safe, comfortable, congenial setting conducive to the serious study and application of classical dressage principles. We offer regular clinics with several clinicians including Lisa Hall, Patrick Tompkins, Pia Helsted and Andrea Velas. All lessons and training are structured around the training scale to ensure the correct progressive development of horse and rider according to classical principles. Training may include lunging, free jumping, work over cavaletti, trail riding and hill work as it is important that horses have fun with their work and are not drilled. We do not provide school horses although do have limited ability to offer lessons on select privately owned client horses. We do offer horses for sale and can offer assistance in finding your next compatible partner. We also provide clinics and presentations from visiting clinicians of regional and national repute. Contact us to be put on our mailing list or friend us on FB to stay informed of scheduled activities and events. We hope you will come see us soon and experience Uphill Dressage for yourself. We had a wonderful first ever recognized dressage show yesterday, Flight for Independence II - Recognized Dressage Show ! Huge thank you to the many people who made this happen, especially Flight Line Dressage Shows and our many sponsors. It took a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes from many people to make this doable, especially preparing the ring after a heavy rain storm Thursday.
We had a full day of rides from 8am to 4pm with intro all the way to Grand Prix competing. The day also included excellent breakfast and coffee; free catered lunch courtesy of Elaine Shetler-Libent realty group; huge gift baskets donated by the boarders at uphill dressage; and beautiful ribbons and prizes from the Flightline crew. We had excellent weather and a perfect day and look forward to hosting this event again next year!
