This is a reminder to all residents living within the city limits of Nevada: any dog over the age of 6 months is required to have a current rabies vaccination and be registered with the City of Nevada. 🐶
City tags may be purchased at the Nevada Missouri Animal Shelter, Nevada Veterinary Clinic, 54 Veterinary Clinic, or at City Hall. Proof of a current rabies vaccination (a rabies certificate from a licensed veterinarian) is required at the time of purchase.
City tags are valid for one year from the date of purchase. For example, if you purchase a tag in February, it will be valid through the following February.📆
The cost of a city tag is $5️⃣ for spayed or neutered dogs and $🔟 for unspayed or unneutered dogs.

🐾 Reflecting on 2025 at Nevada Animal Shelter 🐾

As we look back on 2025, we are incredibly proud of what our shelter was able to accomplish—even during challenging times. While it hasn’t always been easy, our commitment to helping our community and their pets never wavered.

This year, we:
• Hosted a low-cost vaccine clinic, providing vaccines to over 120 dogs, helping keep pets healthy and protected
• Assisted more than 250 local families with pet food and supplies thanks to a generous donation from Chewy
• Achieved a 95.2% save rate, allowing us to be considered a no-kill facility
• Received the Shelter of the Year Award from the Missouri Animal Control Association, an honor we are truly grateful for.

None of this would be possible without the support of our community, volunteers, donors, and staff who continue to show up for animals in need. Even in difficult times, we do our very best to serve Nevada and the pets who depend on us.

Wanted to give everyone a Health update. I’ve been doing great. I have my days. But it seems like my symptoms are somewhere in control. With that being said, I have to take a new approach on how I do pet sitting. I will be focusing mainly on Monday through Friday work. But will still be Pet Sitting over the weekend. I will just have to have ample notice. Even if it’s just an estimation on a week that you will be gone. I would like to have at least two weeks notice for anything that is happening on Saturday or Sunday. Or anything long-term like a week long vacation. If you do need me on a weekend and do not give me ample notice, there will now be the emergency fee of $25 starting January 1. This will be added to the $10 weekend fee and visit fee. Below is my days off for this next year. If there is any conflicting dates, please message me these are not set in concrete yet. These days will be set December 26.

I would like to thank each and everyone of my clients for being great friends and letting me get to know their family and for babies, it means a lot to me. Thanks for always working with me and being there for me! This year marks the 10th year that I have been in business!! I could not have done it without each and everyone of you and the support of my friends and family. Thank you. ❤️
