He is our newest Puppy Basics pup who is here to start off life on the right track with his wonderful family!

Introducing our newest Board & Train, Scooby Doo! Aka, Scooby! 🐕

He is here to work on his obedience and listening skills, not rushing out doors, his 80lb self jumping on people, getting mouthy when over excited, and chewing on things he shouldn’t.

He is a shy guy, but we have already seen some of his goofy self. On his walks he definately turns around at every sound so we will be doing a lot of confidence work. He can also be a little stubborn so we will make sure to practice, practice, and practice some more to solidify everything as well as holding him accountable for the things he knows.

Excess barking is not music to the ears 😣

It’s annoying, frustrating, and even embarassing!

So here are some of the reasons why dogs bark and how I work through it

Barking is something my own dog really struggled with due to fear and applying these things to our lives helped tremendously

(Psst! Implementing these things also helps eliminate other nuisance behaviors like jumping 😊)

Handsome Dominick is our newest Board & Train!

I had him as a puppy for basic obedience and he was a rockstar with his OB but did display some nervousness and was “snippy” in some situations (not many but even one situation is one too many). Fast forward, he is almost 2 years old and his anxiety has definately progressed. He has developed stranger danger and has started to resource guard his food, even biting their son.

Can you believe their vet told them the growling and guarding were normal and no big deal.

All this to say, he will be here for 2 weeks for a serious mental reset, stopping that possessive behavior in it’s tracks, and LOTS of confidence building.

Welcome to our newest Board & Train dog, Hunni!

Hunni is here for 3 weeks for a serious mindset shift. She has separation anxiety (has broken out of her kennel before) and lacks confidence/is insecure. She will also be learning some much needed manners and boundaries.

Hi! 👋🏻 I’m Emma

I am the owner and trainer of Fundamental K9

I wanted to introduce myself 😊

I have held dog jobs most of my life. From bather to doggy daycare attendant to dog walker/sitter.

I have been around animals like horses my whole life. My parents own a farm with horses, a donkey, some goats, a dog, and a couple cats. Let’s just say, I love animals! But dogs are my favorite 🐕

My favorite thing to do outside of dogs is photography, anything crafty, and finding the best food spots.

I had a pittie before Savannah who was a dangerous hot mess. We hired a force free trainer and got nowhere. I felt absolutely hopeless and ended up surrendering her to a trainer. If I had found balanced training when I had her, it would have given me the tools to build a better relationship with her. It would have helped her become a more confident dog.

Now I love helping owners communicate better with their dogs and then seeing their relationship grow. I love helping dogs reach their full potential.
