Dave and Kim Morera are commited to living a low impact lifestyle for 36 years. Due to the BIG changes going on with our farm in 2011 we will not have any CSA subscriptions this year. Dave has been a beekeeper since 1970. While still in high school in California, he kept his own hives and learned composting techniques that turned marginal soil into a rich growing medium. cally raised Bee nucs for sale in 2012. These bees will not have experienced the stresses of interstate transport and are straight bred, vey calm Italians. They have recently begun construction on a micro house and have just finished a year round greenhouse. Guests aree always welcome (by appointment) to come and watch our progress and get a hands on lesson about Bee culture.

So, I had to ask "what would Dave do" and went out wandering, had dinner and came back with a Sapporo beer to the hotel room.

Honey Bees can fly for up to 6 miles and as fast as 15 miles per hour, hence, it would have to fly around 90,000 miles or 3 times around the world to make 1 lb. of honey. It would take 1 ounce of honey, to fuel a Bees flight around the world.

When the hive is REALLY warm, they will go and get water and then spray it into the air while beating their wings, evaporation cooling = bee air conditioning.

Hi Folks, Just wanted everyone to know that Bees Knees Farm is officially back in business again. Our first flush of naturally grown Sh*take mushrooms (40 lbs.) sold out. We are expecting a second flush in approx. 1 month. We DO HAVE 10 lbs. of dried mushroom available in 1/2 lb. vacuum sealed packs for $12 each. We are now making Honey Jellies, with all natural ingredients, contact us for available flavors ( 8oz. jars, $7 each). AND, of course, our high quality Local ,Raw Honey in 12 oz. Bears,1 lb. ,2 lb. jars and whipped honey spread .
