We recently celebrated Ari F. and her 4th work anniversary with Great Lakes Vet! Born and raised in Winneconne, Ari grew up with lots of love in a family with six siblings. From a young age, she learned the importance of responsibility, caring for others, and always lending a helping hand. Ari was determined to become independent after high school and worked hard toward her goals which eventually led her to GLVC! We are so happy that her path brought her to us. Ari is a wonderful Tech Assistant, bringing her dedication, hard work, and care for others to work every day. When Ari is not in clinic, she loves spending time with her family and her adorable fur babies Audrey, Denali, Dixie, Lyla, and Milo. Thank you, Ari, for everything you do for our patients and team. We are so glad you are part of the family. Happy 4th anniversary!

We just celebrated Emma’s 7th work anniversary with GLVC!
Emma was born in the area but moved to Texas when she was in grade school. Coming back to Wisconsin for college, she attended UW Whitewater. Emma was an all-American Bowler and worked very hard for that title! After achieving a degree in biology, Emma found Great Lakes Vet and the rest is history! We are so glad that Emma joined us 7 years ago. She brings so much knowledge, dedication, and care to our team. While Emma started as a Vet Assistant, she was elevated into our first Tech Assistant position many years ago. She is a wonderful asset to our assistant crew and is super tech savvy! When Emma is at home, she loves to spend time with her husband and beautiful baby boy, as well as her fur babies Moo and Leinie. Emma, we are so happy to have you in the family! Happy Anniversary!

Natalie just celebrated her 4th work anniversary with Great Lakes Vet!
Natalie was born in Ashland, all the way up by Lake Superior. Fresh out of high school she wanted to change her small-town life, so she went to St. Louis, Missouri. While in Missouri, she worked at a local coffee shop as a supervisor for a few years. Realizing she missed being near family, she moved to Eau Claire. She started as a Starbucks supervisor before dabbling in some human medicine schooling and working at a local hospital. When Covid hit, she decided human medicine was not her forte. Following her brother who recently came back from deployment with the Navy, she moved to Neenah. Natalie has always loved animals, so she entered the veterinary field as a receptionist at a local emergency clinic. Realizing emergency medicine is a different beast, she quickly looked for a local clinic and found GLVC. In her 4 years with us, she has been a receptionist, vet assistant, and is now currently a tech assistant. We are grateful to have such a fun and caring woman on our team. When Natalie is at home, she loves spending time with her furry felines, Oliver, Jude, and Rue. Happy 4 years, Natalie! We can’t wait to see what the next 4 have in store! 🐾

Recently, we celebrated Keiley’s 2nd work anniversary at GLVC!
Keiley was born in the U.K. and grew up around horses. As early as 5 years old, she was begging for riding lessons, even earning them by mucking out stalls on the weekends. Keiley was thrown into adulthood at a young age and worked her life around raising her younger brother for many of her teenage years. When the time came to put herself first, she wasn’t quite sure what career she wanted to pursue. She studied various pathways, but things came to a halt when she was in a bad horseback riding accident. Taking a step back and healing, she worked some various reception style jobs for a bit. When life threw another curveball, she picked up and move to Belize! While in Belize, Keiley learned many incredible skills with animals. She volunteered at a sanctuary that helped remove animals from the illegal pet trade. From manatees to monkeys and even big cats, she nursed and cared for them all. She is also one of very VERY few people in the world to be certified to safely nasogastric feed a manatee. Incredible! While Keiley truly enjoyed caring for wildlife, her family needed her so she went back home. She took care of and helped her younger brother through university and began working with animals again. Starting as a receptionist at a vet clinic, she worked her way up to lead receptionist, then kennel assistant, then veterinary assistant while also going to Royal College for veterinary medicine. She graduated as a registered vet nurse, married her best friend’s brother, and moved here! Keiley worked to become a CVT in the US and was at another clinic for 5 years before finding Great Lakes. While she credits GLVC as being her saving grace, we think she is ours! Keiley is our Fear Free guru and helps us adjust to ease stress on patients in both clinical and home settings. We are extremely lucky to have such a fun, intelligent, and kind woman on our team. When Keiley is home, she loves spending time with her adorable kids, husband, and fur babies (Maxx, Obi, and lots of bunnies). Happy work anniversary, Keiley! We are so glad to have you in the GLVC family! 🐾

Molly just celebrated 3 years at Great Lakes Vet Clinic!
Molly was born in Wausau but struck out to warmer weather after high school. Starting college in California, she quickly realized she missed home and came back to Wisconsin. She stumbled into realizing she enjoyed animals and surgery, so she started volunteering at a local Humane Society and began vet tech school. She then got her foot in the door as a kennel assistant for a vet clinic and worked her way up. From being a vet assistant to an intern, she graduated FVTC as a CVT and then moved to Florida. While in Florida, she wore many hats in the vet field. She worked in specialty surgery, at a spay/neuter clinic, and became Lead Technician. She really enjoyed helping shelter animals, so she made the jump to shelter medicine and was a Lead CVT for awhile as well. Eventually life caught up to her, and she realized she missed her family again and she came home, for good! She applied to GLVC before she even left Florida, so we knew she was here to stay! Molly is an incredible CVT. She is always working hard in surgery, providing excellent patient care, and is very computer savvy. We are incredibly lucky to have Molly on our team! When Molly is away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Molly has three adorable cats named Buttercup, Duck Duck, and Goose. Molly, you are a wonderful asset to GLVC and we cannot wait to see what your future holds. Happy 3rd work anniversary!

Autumn was made for dogs and they know it. 🍂Crisp air, crunchy leaves, and a dog who is absolutely living their best life. They make you get outside even when you'd rather stay in and for that we are eternally grateful. What's your favorite thing about fall walks with your dog?

🧡There is something so quietly powerful about an older dog just taking it all in. Those grey muzzles have seen things, loved deeply, and shown up every single day without fail.
October is a great reminder to slow down and cherish every single walk.

Recently, Dr. Shaw hit a milestone at Great Lakes Vet! She has been taking care of pets at GLVC for the last 10 years!
Dr. Shaw was born in Nebraska and always wanted to be a Veterinarian. Dr. Shaw attended the University of Kansas for her undergrad and went to Kansas State to become a DVM. While in Kansas, she met her wonderful future husband. During vet school, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant. While completing her senior year, she married her husband and then graduated. She interned in Florida briefly for an emergency/critical care vet hospital after. One winter she came to Wisconsin to visit her husbands side of the family and she fell in love! Cozy fireplaces, beautiful winter landscapes, and fun activities helped make the decision to move here. Dr. Shaw completed an externship and worked for several years at a local emergency hospital while also helping with relief work at times. When her firstborn daughter came around, she realized that 24-hour emergency care in the vet field was not ideal, so she called up GLVC and asked if we were hiring a full-time DVM... we couldn’t say no! Dr. Shaw has been with us ever since. We are so happy to have such a motivated, dedicated, incredible DVM on our team. Dr. Shaw helped move the clinic away from paper records and even got our DVM team into scrubs! We are grateful for all of the wonderful contributions and hard work she has put in. When Dr. Shaw is away from the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughters and husband. She has 2 adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (Winston & Winnie), 2 cute kitties (Toro & Squeakers) and a little rat named Bob. Happy 10th work anniversary Dr. Shaw! Here’s to another 10!
