I reduced the clinic to 4 hours and the cost to $175 after careful consideration. The ladies that are already enrolled are on board. I would love to get one or two more riders. Don't be afraid! You can do hard things! Give me a call to reserve your spot with a deposit.

Please help us welcome Hayden to Southern Run Ranch! She will begin teaching beginner and intermediate riding lessons starting October 15.

Hayden recently moved to the Houston area with her husband, who works at Rice University. She has had a lifelong passion for horses, beginning with English riding lessons as a child before eventually transitioning to Western riding. She has been riding and showing for many years and teaching for six years.

Hayden began her instructing career at a therapeutic riding barn, where she discovered how impactful horses can be for both physical and emotional well-being. She has also taught at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Equestrian Center, providing English, Western, and therapeutic lessons to military members, retirees, and their families.

Over the years, Hayden has explored many different Western disciplines. She enjoys teaching riders of all experience levels, from beginners to more advanced riders, and helping each student build confidence, develop a strong foundation, and discover the disciplines they enjoy most. Ranch events are her favorite to ride and show, and she also has a special love for Western Dressage.

When she’s not teaching, Hayden enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs and finding any excuse to be outdoors. She’s excited to be part of Southern Run Ranch and looks forward to helping students reach their goals!

I think I have a palomino gelding problem 🤦‍♀️. Marty is three years old now. His dam is my retired barrel/pole mare, Penny. He's just like her.... photogenic no matter how he's standing, clean or dirty.

Never overlook the red horse.

They may not be the horse that catches your eye first. There will always be flashier colors and prettier markings that draw people in.

But beneath that simple red coat, you may find the kindest heart in the barn.

The red horses in my program have been some of my quietest, gentlest, and most understanding partners. They take care of nervous riders. They forgive beginner mistakes. They teach confidence without demanding it first. They seem to know when someone needs a little extra patience.

They weren’t bred for color. They were bred for kindness, athleticism, good conformation, and the kind of mind you can trust.

Sometimes the horse worth noticing most is the one who never needed a fancy color to stand out.

Never overlook the red horse.
