Honoring the Heroes of 9/11
Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the immense bravery shown in the face of tragedy.
As veterinary professionals, we also want to take a moment to look back and remember the extraordinary four-legged heroes of that day.
Over 300 search and rescue dogs-including
German Shepherds, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and mixed breeds-worked tirelessly at Ground Zero and the Pentagon.
These incredible animals braved shifting debris, smoke, and intense heat to locate survivors and bring closure to grieving families. Alongside them were dedicated veterinarians who worked around the clock in makeshift clinics, treating burned paws, dehydration, and exhaustion to keep these canine heroes moving forward
Today, we honor the courage, loyalty, and healing presence of those animals, and the resilience of everyone affected by that unforgettable day.

Fireworks can be exciting for people but stressful for many pets. Here are some simple ways to help keep them safe and comfortable:
Keep pets indoors before fireworks begin.
Close windows, doors, curtains, and blinds to reduce noise and flashes.
Create a calm environment by playing music or leaving a TV on
Check ID tags and microchip information before fireworks begin. The 4th of July is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pets.
Exercise dogs earlier in the day to help them settle down before fireworks.
Never bring pets to fireworks displays. Loud noises, crowds, and hot debris can all be dangerous.
We will be closed Friday July 3rd and reopen Monday July 6th. If you have a pet emergency call Animal Emergency Care in Gulf Breeze. 850-721-1645. Have a safe and happy 4th. 🇺🇸 🐾

Does your dog struggle with thunderstorms? 🐶⛈️

We're currently looking for dogs with storm anxiety to participate in a study at our veterinary clinic.

If your dog becomes anxious during storms—such as trembling, pacing, panting, hiding, barking, or trying to escape—you may qualify.

Participation may help us learn more about storm-related anxiety in dogs and contribute to improving future treatment options.

If you're interested in learning more or finding out if your dog is eligible, please contact our clinic by calling us or sending us a Facebook message. There will be no cost to you. Please call Lisa at 850-936-4446.
