Helping Outside Animals Rescue

Helping Outside Animals Rescue A foster-based non profit 501 (c)(3) animal rescue in CT run by volunteers with F/T jobs. We work with several reputable rescues.

We feed, trap, transport, foster, and provide medical care for abandoned cats, then get them into safe/loving homes. We work with authorities on enforcing the law pertaining to dogs who are being forced to live outdoors without adequate shelter, food and/or water. We also work on getting help for stray cats and/or TNR.

😞💔
“The couple added that the investigator did not find an issue with the outlet the couch was plugged into.

“It was exactly how it was supposed to be, and it was definitely the reclining couch that caused the fire because the wiring in the back wasn’t properly encased,” Khristy De Silva added.

Honolulu firefighters reported that their investigation into the fire remains ongoing, but they encourage consumers always to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.

“If you do have one of those types of electrical couches, look into the brand and just to help another family avoid this situation,” Khristy De Silva said. “It’s devastating and it’s tragic.”

The tragedy has the couple warning others, because the flames not only ruined much of the 90-year-old home Khristy De Silva grew up in, but also claimed the lives of their two cats, Oscar and Salem.

“They were so much more to me than just pets. They were like my children and they really got me through some of the hardest points in my life, like losing my mom,” Khristy De Silva said.

Khristy De Silva’s mother, Melani, died about 10 years ago. Some of her belongings, including photos, VHS tapes and journals, also went up in flames. “

Flames spread in a matter of 15 minutes, leaving much of the couple’s two-bedroom house scorched 🔽

Cats have a special way of making a house feel less empty. 🐈💛

For many elderly people in care homes, loneliness can quietly become part of everyday life. That’s why some people believe cats should be allowed in more facilities — not just as pets, but as companions that provide comfort, routine, affection, and emotional support.

Studies have shown animals can help reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation. Even something as simple as hearing a cat purr or having one curl up nearby can brighten someone’s entire day.

Of course, there are challenges like allergies and care responsibilities, but many people still believe the emotional benefits can be life-changing.

Do you think cats belong in care homes? 🐾

A Chester neighborhood watched in horror after video appeared to show bleach poured onto food left for outdoor cats. One beloved cat named Jumper walked right up to the food but did not eat it. Now a woman has been charged, investigators say no animals were harmed, and the case is heading to court.

We would like to take a moment to thank Kelly, as she’s fostering Travis, who has some behavioral issues. Travis has come a long way, and is a very sweet cat. However, at times he gets overstimulated and might scratch/bite.
We’re looking for an experienced/patient adopter who is willing to continue working with Travis on his manners. This boy has a lot of potential, he loves affection but on his terms. He also prefers to have his foster Mom all to himself (when the whole family is present, Travis can get naughty at times).
He’s good with other cats but cannot be around dogs. No kids either, he’s good with most children but seeks out one girl in particular.
We would love to get Travis into a sanctuary like Better Days but we were told they’re full right now.
Travis is approximately 3 years old and fully vetted.
For more details , please message us.
His adoption fee has been reduced to $100. Cheshire, CT.
