We’re proud to be at the forefront of clouded leopard conservation through our nationally recognized breeding program. Over the years, our team has developed extensive expertise in caring for this species, raising more clouded leopards than any other institution in the United States.
A key part of that work is early socialization, carried out exclusively by our trained veterinary and animal care staff. If you visit the viewing windows at the HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center, you may see a member of our veterinary team spending time with Azi, our clouded leopard cub.
These carefully managed interactions support her development by encouraging natural behaviors like running, climbing, and exploring. Socialization also helps prepare her for future veterinary care and eventual pairing with other clouded leopards.
