Want to level up your dog's training without adding more to your own to-do list? I’ve got you.

I’m opening up a few spots for 1-on-1 intensive training. Over 6 weeks, your pup and I will work together twice a week for 12 focused sessions. You can totally hang back and watch, but the goal is for me to do the "heavy lifting" while your dog learns and plays in a consistent environment.

Normalizing muzzles is a deeply personal mission for me, especially as a trainer who navigates the daily challenges of living with and loving a reactive dog.
During National Dog Bite Prevention Week, I want to reframe these tools not as signs of “failure,” but as an act of love that provides my own dog the safety net he deserves.
By using a basket muzzle, we aren’t just preventing a bite; we are lowering the pressure for everyone involved and allowing our dogs to exist in a world that can often feel overwhelming. Let’s ditch the stigma and recognize that a muzzled dog is a well-managed dog whose human is doing everything right to set them up for success.

There’s this weird pressure in the dog training world to constantly post “transformation” videos of clients to prove you’re legit. But here’s my hot take: the amount of client content on my page has zero correlation with my ability to help you.

I’m a Licensed Veterinary Technician in two states. I spend my “free time” buried in veterinary behavior research and science-based training courses. I know the “why” behind the behavior. But I choose to use my own dog as the “demo” because reactivity and cooperative care are personal. I know how exhausting it is to live with a dog who struggles, and I’d rather be relatable through my own life than compromise a client’s session just to have something to post. My forever Valentine, and inspiration behind our logo turns 4 today 💕
Every birthday he gets to celebrate is an accomplishment for me. For those who may not know, River is a very “quirky” dog. He struggles with stranger danger and fear aggression. But those are just easy to understand labels… River needs patience from every person he meets. His body language is very clear, but most don’t understand him. He will lunge, he will bite, and anything else that will wor to get you to go away. Had River gone to live with anyone who got frustrated by who he is, what his needs are and how he communicates…he may not still be here on Earth with us.
So every birthday, it’s a celebration for both of us. He has made me a better person and dog trainer - helping me every interaction with a more calculated and understanding mindset. Happy birthday buddy 💕🥰🐾

When an animal is in “fight or flight” mode, their physical vitals (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.) spike, making it nearly impossible for a vet to get an accurate reading of their health.

So why is this YOUR problem?

🩺A calm pet allows for a thorough physical exam; an aggressive or terrified pet often receives a “quick look” to avoid injury. This allows the veterinary team to focus on their job - good medicine.

🥼Good behavior prevents injuries to staff and saves you money on sedation fees or “fractious” handling charges.

😥 Each bad experience makes the next one worse. Training your pet to stay calm breaks the cycle of trauma.

Why it’s on You: You are the only person your pet trusts. The vet provides the medicine, but you provide the preparation. Socialization, muzzle training (if needed), and administering calming meds are tasks that can only be done by the owner at home.

⚫️The Bottom Line⚫️
You are your pet’s advocate. Taking responsibility for their behavior ensures the vet can focus on healing them rather than just managing them.

Training two dogs at once can feel like a circus act, but the secret isn’t better reflexes—it’s better strategy. To keep everyone “under threshold” and learning, try these three rules:

1️⃣ Divide and Conquer: Before you train them together, train them apart. Each dog needs to master a cue individually before they can handle the distraction of their sibling.
2️⃣ The “Station” Technique: Give one dog a “job” (like a ‘Place’ cue on a mat or behind a barrier) while you work with the other. This teaches patience and prevents competitive lunging.
3️⃣ High-Value Rewards: Use your best treats! Working around another dog is mentally exhausting, so make the “paycheck” worth the extra effort.
