On Friday, we got together with our co-breeders and friends for a puppy party with our two litters. We are absolutely in love with them and the promise they're already showing!
Unfortunately, we lost most of Yang's litter, the Tangy Tots, when they were very young. The loss of those three puppies was devastating and made us very cautious about sharing more updates. However, we are very pleased with her two beautiful puppies: the sable merle smooth boy we've dubbed Starlight and the sable smooth girl we call Dreamer.
The Pirate Posse, our younger litter by Tristan and Danielle, consists of five boys— four smooths and one rough. These boys are always ready for whatever adventure the high seas have in store. There is so much quality in these boys that it's very hard to choose between them!
Everyone in both litters is doing well now! We have one little guy, Sq**rt, but he's active, thriving, and working hard to catch up.
One of the things we've been especially excited about with these litters is the opportunity to incorporate pedigrees we've long admired into our breeding program. The two littermates we were graciously allowed to use have brought in some new virtues that we hope to continue building upon in future generations, while still maintaining the familiar qualities we always strive to produce.
We've made tentative decisions about which puppies we'll be keeping amongst ourselves. The puppies will be going on their first road trip to Ohio next week for their eye checks, additional socialization, and evaluations from other experienced breeders.
With the virtues packed into their pedigrees and their genetic results, we're extremely excited to watch the futures of the Tangy Tots and Pirate Posse unfold!
