It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

Welcome to the 5 Points Animal Hospital team, Dr. Davey!

For Dr. Davey, animals have always been more than pets — they’ve been family. Growing up, they taught him compassion and responsibility, and they were part of nearly every childhood memory. That bond sparked a lifelong passion, so when he was accepted into Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, it felt like a dream realized.

Since graduating, Dr. Davey has practiced in Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, and now Tennessee. With every stop, he’s carried the same goal: to help families experience the joy and connection that pets have brought to his own life.

At home, Dr. Davey and his family share life with two flat-faced characters — Cadbury the cat and Monty, a very spoiled French Bulldog. Caring for his own pets as they’ve aged and faced medical challenges has shaped his perspective and deepened his empathy for the clients he supports.
