We strive to help pets heal and elevate the standard of veterinary care. Nashville Veterinary Specialists acts as a 24 hour care center, offering emergency services as well as a broad array of specialties including critical care, cardiology, oncology, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, advanced surgery and rehabilitation. Nashville Veterinary Specialists operates out of two different build

ings at their Nashville Campus located at 2971 and 2975 Sidco Drive. Our 27,000 square-foot facility includes 22 exam rooms, on-site MRI, computed tomography (CT), and electrocardiograms, dedicated suites for chemotherapy and ultrasound, a special procedures room (used for endoscopy, cystoscopy, bronchoscopy, neuromuscular electrodiagnostics, etc), digital radiology, five surgical suites, an intensive care unit, an isolation ward and a canine rehabilitation room with an underwater treadmill. We provide care for your important family member when your regular veterinarian is not available. We then work to get you back in the care of your veterinarian as soon as possible. Doctors and veterinary support staff are in the hospital 24 hours a day to continually monitor and care for our patients. Care, which is instituted by the specialists during the day, is maintained at night. Treatments can be easily modified at any time to meet changing patient status. The emergency doctors have training and experience in a broad area of veterinary medicine and surgery rather than in one specific area. The NVS emergency team sees a wide variety of medical problems ranging from minor infections to life threatening trauma. Surgeons, Neurologists and Internal Medicine specialists are on call to perform emergency surgery, advanced diagnostics (i.e. ultrasound and endoscopy) or other specialized procedures.

We had the pleasure of meeting this sweet English Bulldog puppy the other day, and it's safe to say he stole a few hearts while he was here! From those adorable wrinkles to that irresistible puppy charm, this little one made our day a whole lot brighter.

We're always grateful for the opportunity to care for pets at every stage of life, but puppy visits are definitely a special kind of fun. 🐾

Meet Beans, one of the bravest pups we've had the privilege of caring for. ❤️🐾

After undergoing two previous airway surgeries, Beans came to our team needing a third revision procedure. Along the way, he faced serious complications and ultimately required a permanent tracheostomy. There were moments when we weren't sure he would make it, but Beans showed incredible strength every step of the way.

Thanks to the expertise of Dr. McAlexander and our incredible Surgery team, Beans was given a second chance at life. Their dedication, skill, and commitment helped make this remarkable outcome possible.

Today, Beans is breathing easier and enjoying life in ways he never could before. His mom reports that he's now sleeping comfortably on his side, rolling onto his back for belly rubs, and even having puppy dreams.

These may seem like small things, but for Beans, they're life-changing milestones that reflect the gift of being able to breathe freely.

We're so grateful to have been part of his journey and couldn't be happier to see him thriving. Please join us in celebrating Beans, Dr. McAlexander, and our amazing Surgery team for this incredible success story!

A Heartwarming Success Story for Minnie! ❤️

When Minnie first visited our Cardiology team at just 3 months old, an enlarged heart was seen on x-rays that led to the diagnosis of a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), a congenital heart defect. Complicating matters even further, her blood was flowing in the wrong direction due to pulmonary hypertension, making surgery unsafe at the time.

Our Cardiology team started Minnie on medication to treat the pulmonary hypertension, and the results were incredible. We were able to reverse the blood flow back to its normal direction, allowing Minnie to safely undergo corrective surgery!

Minnie's heart defect has been repaired, and she is expected to live a happy, healthy, and normal life. 🐾❤️

We're so proud of Minnie and grateful to have been part of her journey. Join us in celebrating this sweet girl's bright future!

Our favorite birthday boy recently turned ONE, and we celebrated him in the best way possible! From extra love and treats to plenty of tail wags and smiles, Gordy's special day was one to remember.

We absolutely loved celebrating this sweet pup and helping make his big day even more paw-some. 💙
