A late night walk, listening to the frogs and watching the lightning bugs never gets old. Our hidden acres is one of the prettiest places on earth. To think we are only 10 minutes from the chaos of Broadway but living amongst the peacefulness of nature makes us the luckiest.

It was a gorgeous spring day on the farm today. Tomorrow looks like another beautiful day. Puppies, birds, a new filly, and everything in bloom, makes for a day where we are grateful for our little slice of heaven.

Over the years, we have experienced Mother Nature's viciousness. However, we are incredibly grateful that we have been spared during this past flooding event. It was close and we watched the river almost breach the banks, at which point it immediately started to go down very quickly! Thank you for those that have reached out to us. We are so grateful. Even though we were spared this time, many of our neighbors throughout Nashville were not spared. Please continue to reach out to see how you can help with the growing need for flood victims. Hands on Nashville is a great organization to volunteer with. If you are unsure of who or where to turn to help out, reach out to your local council member and they can direct you.

Just a PSA from the farm: We have been keeping a close eye on the water levels with reports of flooding all over Nashville. At 5AM, all is well on the farm!! Water levels are increasing, but with the main storm/rain events behind us, we are being optimistic that we will come through this major weather event soaked but not flooded. We will continue to monitor and update if things change.

** To our boarders: PLEASE stay safe!! With reports of flooded out roads everywhere, please do not try to come to the farm to check on us. All is well. We will contact you directly if things start to turn.

On this day, we reflect back on what we have overcome together. Our beloved farm took a direct hit from a tornado on March 3, 2020 at 12:45am. Trying to get to the farm and literally climbing over trees at 1:00am, we were not prepared for what we would find. Our barns gone, debris everywhere, and we were terrified that we would find our 4 legged friends as casualties. We couldn’t get to the barn but could see into the stalls (block stalls!! Always have block stalls!!) and could see all stall horses survived. We trekked out to the pasture and it looked totally normal, like a tornado never passed through and all horses were fine. We knew we had to wait till daylight so we returned to our own broken homes to try to rest for the work to come. When daylight came, we had neighbors, friends, boarders, and strangers there to help us make organized chaos out of all the debris. We had people feed us, love on us, donate heavy machinery, bring their entire work crews to volunteer, and more. We honestly don’t know who all showed up because there were so many and we were just in survival mode. We estimate that over the course of that week we had at least 200 volunteers show up. We have rebuilt but still have more to finish. We want to thank you all for being there for us when we needed you the most. Our family is incredibly grateful for our friends, neighbors, and community.

Take a look at what we have accomplished so far this year. More improvements to come as the weather improves.

Even after all the destruction from the tornado and now the constant construction/rebuilding effort that is ongoing, we are thankful that the sun still comes out and the flowers still bloom and that we still have the prettiest little farm in the world.

We are all so grateful for the help we have received this week. There are no words to express our thanks and gratitude. We have accomplished so much yet there is so much more to do. This is a marathon and not a sprint. With that said, many of us are needing to rest today. There will still be some at the farm working on cleanup though. We will all be back at it on Monday.

As of right now, ALL hay has been sold. Thank you to EVERYONE who came out to buy the hay. If we have someone to fall through and not get the hay, we will post again to inform everyone.

Thank you very much to everyone who has come out to help with cleanup and who has reached out to us about the hay, animals and families.

There is still much clean up left to do. The helpers have done an amazing job so far but we still have much more to do.

Thank you all.
