For months we’ve wrestled with “who is going to help them once we’re gone”. Let me tell you, the sleepless nights were plentiful.
We met Dr. Wesley Schoonover in 2018 when he was moving his family to Nashville. He made quite an impression on us.
Sometimes you’re lucky enough to catch people being who they are, when they don’t know they are being watched. It tells you a lot... and he made my heart
smile when I heard him talking to a very sick, traumatized kitty we were assisting in rescue.
Compassion and care is the foundation within a person who chooses to work with animals in any capacity, but even more expected for a veterinarian. In Dr. Schoonover’s case, it just comes naturally. Without any effort. Genuinely from the heart. That means EVERYTHING to me. To us.
His resume is stellar. He has worked in Emergency and Critical Care, a feline-only practice (kitties are some kind of special medically and behaviorally 🙀) and even has Shelter experience. All of these are invaluable in becoming a well-rounded clinician and diagnostician.
When we were informed that Dr. Wes opened his own practice in June, we were overjoyed!! Private practices are unfortunately few and far between and for him to never put his goals on hold even for a pandemic, I can’t tell you how happy we were for him.
The care of your babies as well as YOU, was paramount in making our selection. The team without a doubt, will provide a seamless transition and provide the care you are accustomed to.
We will continue to provide copies of your records throughout the month of December.
In January 2021, your records will be transferred to where you will continue to have access to them should you choose.
