Today we would like to honor canine veterans ❤🐾🇺🇸
These four-legged warriors have saved countless lives by finding hidden threats and alerting their human counterparts to danger long before an explosion or ambush could occur. Their acute senses and dedication make them indispensable partners in protecting our troops. They face dangers alongside their humans, provide comfort during stressful deployments, and save lives through their service.
Today and every day - let’s salute these brave canines for their courage, dedication, and the irreplaceable role they play!

National Rescue Dog Day is observed on May 20, as a reminder that shelter dogs are not leftovers, but rather some of the most resilient, grateful animals a person can ever welcome into their life!
Every year across the United States, countless dogs find themselves in shelters after being abandoned, surrendered, or picked up as strays, waiting quietly for someone to choose them.
If you aren’t in the position to adopt a new furry friend, consider helping rescue pets in other ways, such as donating to rescues, volunteering at shelters, or fostering a pet waiting for their forever home!
Is your pet a rescue? Share their story with us! 🐕💕🐈

Did you know? According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, lost dogs with microchips are returned to their owners 52% of the time, compared to just 22% for those without. For cats, the difference is even greater, with microchipped kitties returned 39% of the time, compared to only 2% returned without.

With these statistics in mind, microchipping your furry friend is a no-brainer! Microchipping is a quick and relatively painless procedure, similar to getting a routine vaccination, and it can be done during any regular veterinary visit.

If we have seen your pet in the last year, it only costs $67 to have your pet microchipped for life! If we have never seen your pet, or it’s been over a year since their last visit, it costs $145+ (depending on vaccines and other goodies that may be needed.)

Give us a call any time to schedule an appointment for your pet! (Or, you can book online with the PetDesk app!)

April is Heartworm Awareness Month!

Is your pet up to date on their heartworm prevention?

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease, caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels of affected pets. If left untreated, it can cause severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs in the body.

Heartworm disease affects dogs, cats and ferrets, but heartworms also live in other mammal species, including wolves, coyotes, foxes, sea lions and—in rare instances—humans.

Make sure your pet has visited us for their annual heartworm test! Then, keep them protected all year with your favorite choice of prevention.

We hope all our furry friends and their humans had a great Easter weekend! 🐇🌷
