With the possibility of bad weather in our area, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division wants to remind everyone to take a few extra steps to keep your furry family members safe! 🐶💙

🌧️ Here are a few important tips to remember:

🏠 BRING PETS INSIDE – Keep your dogs indoors in a safe, secure place during severe weather. Never leave them outside tied to a chain or in an exposed kennel.

🥣 HAVE SUPPLIES READY – Make sure you have at least 3–7 days of food, fresh water, medications, and other necessary pet supplies.

🐾 CHECK IDENTIFICATION – Ensure your dog has a collar with an ID tag and a microchip with current contact information in case you become separated.

🧸 KEEP PETS CALM – Provide a quiet, comfortable space with familiar blankets, toys, or a crate to help reduce stress during storms.

⚠️ WATCH FOR HAZARDS – Keep pets away from floodwaters, standing water, downed power lines, and storm debris.
