Don’t ask me to go anywhere after work until I’ve had a chance to shower and change 🥲

Slip leads are a dog daycare workers best friend! Especially for little stinky dogs that think it’s funny to run away!

Puppies keeping play group lively today 😅

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Do you separate dogs by size?”

The answer is… sometimes. 😅

We’re lucky to have some incredible large, well-balanced adult dogs that come to daycare and boarding regularly. I know these dogs, I trust them, and I know they’ll be gentle and respectful with smaller dogs. Because of that, I’m happy to let them spend time with the littles.

I actually want my little dogs to have positive experiences with trustworthy big dogs. It builds confidence, teaches appropriate social skills, and helps them realize that not every big dog is scary.

The world is full of big dogs (and plenty of other spooky things 😅). If I can help a little dog leave here feeling just a little more confident, that’s a win in my book.

Of course, every dog is evaluated as an individual. Some big dogs play with the littles beautifully, some don’t. Same goes for the little dogs. It’s all about temperament.

🚨 One of the biggest mistakes dog daycares can make? Rushing the introduction.

One of the questions we hear all the time from new clients is:

“So… should I come back in an hour?” 😂

Actually… no! We ask that all first-time daycare dogs spend the full day with us, and there’s a reason for that.

A brand new environment can be overwhelming, even for the most social dog. We never throw a new dog into a group and hope for the best. Every dog deserves time to explore, decompress, meet our staff, and adjust to their surroundings before joining playgroups.

That extra time also allows our team to build a relationship with your dog. Trust and communication matter just as much as social skills. A dog might absolutely love other dogs, but if they ignore staff or won’t recall away from play, that’s a safety concern. We need to know we can communicate with every dog in our care. That may mean taking a break from the group, using a long line while they’re learning, or simply slowing things down until they’re comfortable.

Our goal isn’t just to have dogs playing together. It’s to create safe, well-managed groups where every dog can succeed.

We know it’s hard leaving your best friend somewhere new for the first time, but giving them that extra time on day one sets them up for a much smoother experience in the future. ❤️

✨ That’s why every new dog receives a FREE full day of daycare. No rush. No pressure. Just time to learn, build trust, and have fun.

Nail Trims 🤩
Pet nail maintenance can be tedious, but it’s so so important! Long nails can negatively impact your dog’s long term health and structure! I do my personal dogs nail once every 7-10 days because I’m a crazy person, but once every 1-4 weeks depending on your dogs daily activity should be plenty for the average dog. Nail care is easy to learn to do at home, or practically any trusted pet professional would be happy to help you (*cough* me) ✨

Happy Monday everybody!
