Meet Fern, today's cat rescue.

We received a plea for help from a Good Samaritan about a young paralyzed cat. She was found at a local dump and appeared to be paralyzed from the waist down. The email explained she tends to soil herself where she lays and it was stuck to her fur causing mats. The Good Samaritan asked us for help and said she didn't want to have to euthanize her if there was hope for her.

Today, she saw Dr. Puskaric and received excellent care. They shaved her mats and got her cleaned up. After some testing, it was determined that Fern has a severe Urinary Tract Infection with crystals. The crystals are probably due to her untreated UTI. Thankfully, her X-rays showed nothing concerning, and her ear mites have been treated. Her mobility issues may be related to an old injury.

After massage, range-of-motion exercises, and laser therapy, Fern was already standing and supporting her own weight! 🥰

Fern still has a journey ahead, but today, we have HOPE. Every life matters, and Fern is proof of why we never give up too soon. She will be treated for her injury and spayed before she is placed for adoption.

Amelia is one little bundle of love! She is absolutely precious and loves to nap in your lap or beside you on a chair. She is a little smaller than her male litter mates but keeps up with them when they play. She loves to have fun with her toys. She especially enjoys her play tunnel. She is litter box trained. She is not shy and she will greet you when you come in the room with her.

She adores her siblings and must be adopted with another young kitty or one of her litter mates (Claude and Pablo). She has not been around dogs or older cats. She should thrive in any home where there is lots of love and lots of toys and playtime activities. Amelia will be the perfect lifetime companion and will bring immense joy, fun, and love to your life! Amelia will not disappoint!
